Yeah you just paid $400 bucks and tax for this phone thinking it was the answer to all your needs...NOT..... bucks does not mean you will get excellent service with it"
If you look at the reviews of this phone and ask those who have this model it is not a SMART phone yet....
So you call and yell at the carrier, who wouldn't, but really I think that the Manufacturer is to blame, would you blame the gas station if your car doesn't run right????
PROS - Thought this was going to be the BOMB
CONS - REALITY it needs the upgrade to come out, drop the phone model entirely
And hey its wireless service - if you want reliability call on a land line, your car stereo dosen't always come in great..;)

ATTWS not selling MPx200 anymore...

I just came back from the Danvers, MA ATT Wireless store and was told that not only do they not have the MPx200 in the store but that ATT wireless is no longer selling it because it does not operate on the 850 (800?) GSM band which is a big part of ATTWS network today. I confirmed yesterday that ATTWS is aggressively converting their 8xx GSM over to one of the higher 18xx/19xx bands (forget which) but had no way to determine which areas would be affected in the meantime. Rep told me that the phone would try to use a partnering carrier (frequently Cingular, which makes sense since the announced a merger intent) but I can't be sure how this particular phone would be supported in the meantime. Anyway, I was surprised to hear the guy say this today in the store and it confirms the things I read on another Web site that had more detail on the "obsolescence" of the MPx200 for ATTWS. If I find the URL for that site I'll repost it... it had a color map of the different bands of the ATT and Cingular networks which even the ATTWS 1-800 rep said she had no access to. Guess that leaves me with only the Samsung SCH-i600 for a smartphone now.
