Not the worst, but not the best...

This is not the best as a cell phone, but not the worst. It isn't the worst as a PDA, but not the best.

The PROs:
- Seems to have half decent battery life
- Windows works rather well
- Phone is decent on reception in good coverage
- Screen is easy to read
- Keyboard and stylus are easy to use
- Navigation is simple
- Internet is pretty quick, even in 1XRTT areas

The CONs:
- Phone reception is terrible in fringe and low coverage areas, frequently dropping calls and missing calls; justifies the use of an external antenna (you can get one from Wilson Cellular)
- Screen only comes back on by hitting the "END" key once it goes off
- Stylus is absolutely necessary for some things; makes it difficult when driving
- Bluetooth is very quirky
- Standard battery has VERY short life, especially with the Bluetooth on
- WiFi is a pain to use
- Extendable antenna seems to do nothing for reception

Bottom line: This phone is only about average. Not the best, not the worst. But when I get the chance and the money - FamilyShare and extra line here I come, along with an LG VX(model number here) to boot.

Piece of junk

Who cares about any of the good points when the bad points make it non-reliable as a phone? If you don't care about the phone part then MAYBE you can find some use for this paperweight.

Just some of the bad Points:
The software locks up many times a day. It locks itself is states that keep the screen on so if you holster it without noticing you run out your battery.
Battery life is very short as is, even with the extended battery.
Not IF but WHEN it locks up you miss calls.
Notification of voice mail and calls is not prevalent.

I'm back to my trusty V710, don't waist your time or money.

This is a great phone if it would just work right! The functions blow away palm by far. The only features the phone needs is a camera and to be able to use wifi and the phone simultaneously. (As far as battery life....WHO CARES. Samsung gives you two batteries. If you're so worried just get a memory card).

The dissapointments about the phone is:
-constant soft resets to get the phone to work right.
-frequent freezing
-wifi not hooking up to a router even though I'm a room away
-holding the function key to enter numbers
-speakerphone sucks
-side buttons to easy to touch
-voice dialing is ehhhh
-and the worse thing no AIM

all in all if this phone worked right i would be happy. I'm waiting for the next pda phone and switching asap. Why can't everything just be a reliable Apple computer.

the I 730 is not a bad phone, and most "smart" people who have a PDA phone also have a cell phone simply because there just a pocket computer basically????? PDA's are terrible as phones but thats why you have a sepearate cell phone for that
