Verizon TREO 650 - phone from hell

Can I rate it with a negative number?

Worst piece of junk I have used since cell phones came onto the market.

Since I bought this POS on 5/27, I have suffered the following problems:
* 6 lockups requiring me to pull the battery and reboot
* most calls going directly into voicemail
* synchronization problems with Outlook TWICE, with the latest failure taking up 8 HOURS of my time to repair
* Hour-long hold times to reach PalmOne
* Failure to connect to my Lexus with Bluetooth

The likelihood of my remaining a Verizon customer is not good.

I am on my 4th phone!!! Do not waste your time or money on this phone. I previously had the Treo 600 and Samsung i330 with absolutely no problems. I drop tons of calls where I have never dropped before. I have been a Sprint customer in Louisville KY for several years. People tell me I cut out all the time and sound like I am talking in a trash can. Which is exactly where this phone belongs.

Things have not improved with the fourth phone. It gets so bad that I have to call people back on a land line so they can understand me and I am not a quiet person.

My Sprint store and sprint customer service tell me they have never heard of such a thing, but if you check this site you will find others. In fact, I copied and pasted some of my text from another guys review in Kansas City because he described it so well.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME ON THIS PHONE AND ON SPRINT!@!!!!

Purchased the 650 from Verizon for use with my 2005 BMW Bluetooth connection. After trying to pair the car with my cell phone, to no avail, I called Verizon and sent an e-mail to BMW Customer Care. Both came back with the same answer, the Treo 650 WON'T WORK with a 2005 BMW. So after having the phone for less than one week, back it went. I'll wait for another bluetooth phone from Verizon before trying this again.

Started out as love at first sight but...

Ok...I've had Sprint for 2 years and they suck...more so after trying to get them to replace my treo which is under warranty. I thought I was the only one that experienced such problems with the phone (most of my friends love it), but after reading this I realize I'm not alone, and I decided to let the truth out about the Treo 650.

Pros: lots of software available, it can really increase your productivity (if it would actually work), very user friendly.

Cons: When I bought the phone I thought I had won the lotery. Guess what...I was wrong, actually it was a waste of money. I've owned it for 5 months. The phone would reset itself every day a couple of times, it would crash and I would have to manually reset it, and on top of all the software problems the flimsy charging slot died on me and couldn't charge my phone, and therefore had been out for a week (still waiting on my replacement from Sprint). I have no complaints as to looks, and size, or the keyboard. I find them pretty useful, but the software problems are driving me to change OS.
I'll switch companies as soon as I get my "new" phone. I'll probably go to Cingular and try the new Wizard. I'm not very familiar with the WM 5.0 platform, but it gets good reviews.
I really don't recommend the phone or Sprint. They suck, they overcharge me every month and try to make it up, and on top of that they give you hell if your phone is under warranty. Like I said, I've been to the store numerous times and I'm still waiting on a replacement. (one week), wo compensation (I had to buy a pay as you go phone to be able to get in touch with people). The only reason why I haven't switched already is because I want to keep my number and get what I'm entitled to (a new phone). I even emailed palmone about it and never heard from them. Lousy service.

A couple of friends have told me I'm a phone wh0re. I swap phones and service all the time. I'm hard to satisfy. Not anymore!

The Treo 650 is simply the best phone I have ever owned. I have owned all kinds of phones and PDAs, and have never been satisfied, until now.

If you are just looking for a cell phone, don't spend the money on this. It's more than a phone! If you don't have a need for the features on this phone, then don't even bother. I personally use the features and it serves me very well.

Pros: Everything. Perfect phone/pda in my opinion.

Cons: Only minor complaint I can find is that the volume (not speakerphone) is a little low during calls. I find it a little hard to hear when going down the interstate with all of the wind noise and such. However, I have purchased a bluetooth earpiece and it works great. All problems solved.

I use Sprint, and have excellent signal. I get very good signal inside my apartment, whereas with Verizon and Cingular (and multiple phones) my signal was horrible inside. I could step outside and it was fine, but always died when in buildings.
