narn3049 submitted this review of the LG VX-3200:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

For it's age and being a simpler phone, it still get's a good rating.

I had two of them. The first one was a victim to being laid on the table of a cafe and have water spilled on it. The inner screen was black, no longer could I check my texts, and that's really what all I did, I hardly ever call and still don't.

Since it was only on the screen (indicator's weren't tripped) I got it replaced and loved it.

Pros:
Good sound
Good images
good ability to text on (got an lg 3400 and returned it because the txting joy on it compared to the 3200 were not the same.
Great selection of ringtones
Able to be connected to usb to charge
Good budget to buy!

Cons:
No camera
No ability to pix message or recieve pix messages
No mobile web

Also one more thing to the pros. It was so able to be dropped a lot. I tossed it at a wall when i was mad sometimes and it got scratched, but if I tossed my 3400 at a wall I would be thinking i would have a screen shatter.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

-J- submitted this review of the LG VX-3200:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

It was my first. I hated it at first. The boring bland look, no camera, didnt have any games. Was a basic simple phone. Just to talk and txt. No more no less. I had the phone for a little more than a year until upgraded to the chocolate. Man did i miss my old 3200. Sure the phone was simple yet it never gave me no problems, I probably dropped it more than a billion times. The thing was just beat up but it never gave out on me. The most reliable phone i have ever had. And it was also dropped in water. Still worked for a year after. My dad had the same phone he loved it also. I have a PDA know but it still isnt as reliable i think as the VX 3200!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

CTownBabyGirl submitted this review of the LG VX-3200:

Overall rating: 5 (out of 5)

Look I am one of those people who always has the latest phone no matter how much it costs with everything on it, MP3, camera, video, web, aim, u name it. 5 yerars now i have been switchin up with these expensive phones about every 6 months i have gone through a sidekick, kyocera slider remix, nokias, razr, krzr, chocolate you name it and have had malfunctions in all the phones (this is without droppin them at all and they were not refurbished) i realized that the more stuff you get on the phone the lest resistant it is. I have had suck a head ache with these gadgets and recently made a choice to get a basic simple inexpensive phone. I chose this LG.. a friend of mine had it for 3 years and i used to make fun of her all the time but it is still in perfect condition, she has dropped it a trillion times and its sturdy as a rock. As i was laughing at her i was spending hundreds on new phones breakin every couple months. I broke down and bought this phone... i have to admit i am soo pleased, it is the simplest to use and i wont have to worry about it breaking

Pros:
clear clear screen
extremely resilient
loud so i can hear what people are saying
clear speaker
you can set voice recordings as ringers which is amazing because the speaker is clear and you can just record music with out paying for ring tones
basic, no hassles
a few cute display settings
buttons are nice and easy
batter last pretty long and charging is quick
funny but a cute mirror border around the screen so you can check ur reflection (for the women who worry about their makeup)
light weight
mobil web

Cons:
could use a screen on the front to tell whose calling but you can open up the cover and see who it is with out picking up
slow mobil web (but i dont use it alot anywhase)
reception can be hard to find at times but alot of times that just has to deal with the company you are working through
could use some games
the inbox gets filled pretty quick and this annoying message pops up about it being 80% full

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

Performance! This little gem is a great phone:

Pros:
Good reception, very few dropped calls, vivid color screen with display options, Tones are good and loud when you want it, ear piece is loud and clear, speaker phone is very good.

Cons:
No external display.

Added note: This phone took a bath in a cup of coffee and survived working perfectly!

Those of you claiming bad reception. Start looking at your service, not the phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

The reception is the worst i have ever experianced on a phone, I have dropped more calls than anyone I know. There are no features to this phone, which are important to me. I plan to buy the new Chocolate from Verizon Wireless, and hopefully this review will discourage you from purchasing this lame excuse for a cell phone!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

glam24 submitted this review of the LG VX-3200:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

It's a terrible shame that this great phone of mine was recently damaged by a liquid spill. The screen has turned into a kaliedoscope of random colors and the data/usb port at the bottom of the phone no longer works. Other than that the phone still functions and hasn't lost any functionality. This poor phone has withstood 2 spills, about 1/2 dozen drops on concrete, high heat, several tosses across the room, and the usual everyday rough-handling a phone might endure during over a year of daily use. That said, this is a robust phone that'll take a beating!
Accessories are relatively easy to find and inexpensive.
The display is highly customizable.
You can choose custom ringtones and graphics or photos to identify individual callers.
There are handy features indluded such as an easy tip calclator, highly customizable alarm clock settings, vibration, supports real-tone ringers and photos, descent color range for photos about 16 ringers included, easy to use calculator, voice dailing and 1-key speed dialing, multiple entries per contact (about 5 or 6 slots) with an email address pere entry, well-lit keypad and customizable backlight options, quick jump to a contact on your list, makes short phone call records, fair reception (better than many, worse than some), light-weight slim design, great speakerphone, moderate battery life and more.

Here are the few con's:
- Only allows 50 incoming messages to be stored, and once you've reached 80% of your inbo storage space you'll receive an annoying note telling you this each time you open the box.
- The text messaging is less user-friendly than other phones. And if the message fails to send on the 2nd attempt the message you've typed is lost.
- A bit slow on powering up and shut off.
- Annoyingly slow internet (@ metro) functioning.
- No games included

The only thing that I feel this phone lacked was a camera and at least 1 game.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

This phone is not fancy in any way, but I knew that when I bought it in the first place. This phone is sturdy as a rock and can withstand tons of drops beatings earthquakes whatever! No it doesnt have a front screen, but DUH didnt you know that when you bought it!!! It is a really neat phone! I like how you can record a voice memo and set it as your ringtone!!! Sweetness! I just went to a ringtone website and held my 3200 up to the speaker, recorded it (it took a coulple of times to get it to sound right) then I saved it and set it as my ringtone! How simple was that!>!> Great phone!!!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

This phone is a good basic phone, I like it for the price we charge for it. (of course I got it free though through work)

PROS :
Good battery life
Easy menu interface (interchangeable from List to Icon)
Good signal
Big buttons
Good speaker
Nice small clamshell

CONS :
No extendable antenae
No games
Kinda crappy ringtones
No external LCD

Overall, this phone is alright for a customer that doesn't require all the bells and whistles like MP3, Camera/Video, etc, etc. It serves its purpose for me as a secondary work phone.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

danibabe submitted this review of the LG VX-3200:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

The actual phone has nothing to do with dropped calls. It is the service provider that drops the calls. If you get dropped calls often and obviously can’t change service due to fees and penalties... call your provider and tell them each time you have a dropped call most of the providers will gladly credit those calls but if they don’t know about them there isn’t much they can do. As for the phone it self... I worked for a wireless company many years ago and I will say that LG has come a long way. So don’t knock the phone knock the service provider.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

hags2k submitted this review of the LG VX-3200:

Overall rating: 1 (out of 5)

I got this phone because it was cheap and it was basic. I just wanted a reliable phone without any frills. I thought this was a great choice. I was mistaken.

First of all, it doesn't hold its own even as a "basic" model. The reception seemed okay at first, but after a while it just got worse and worse. I've used other people's phones in every area where I typically use my own and on the SAME SERVICE (Verizon Wireless). In all these areas my phone drops calls, despite having as many as FOUR signal indicator bars, yet I was able to hold the call and maintain calls without problems when using other people's phones. Even sprint phones, which get terrible reception in my area, don't drop calls even a tenth as much as my phone does.

Several of my friends and my girlfriend's father own this phone as well, and they all have either had their phones replaced with other models through insurance, or are contemplating replacing their phones at their own expense. Perhaps not all of these phones are bad, but the fact that mine and most of my friends' phones are physically in good condition yet can't maintain decent reception or hold onto calls makes me VERY suspicious.

So, this is a basic phone that can't do the basics. Caveat Emptor.

Pros: Small, basic, pretty durable

Cons: Doesn't do the only thing it's designed to do - make and receive calls consistently without dropping them. Only seems to work when I have at least FIVE reception bars, which is almost never.

I'd take an old, black and white screen, and bulky nokia over this phone any day. In fact, I just bought one through eBay to replace this one for 12 bucks, and it's a huge upgrade as far as I'm concerned.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

I am with midwest wireless in southwestern minnesota. It is a good, solid phone...gets descent reception, good quality, not too bad looking. The main problem for me and my friends who also own these phones, is that after a short period of time you just get bored of them...

Pros:
-Solid (dosen't break if you dont use excessive force...oops! hehe) but I once ran it over with my sisters ford taurus and it didnt break...impressive!@
-Descent reception
-Easy to work

Cons:
-No exterior LCD
-Small screen
-No variety...not very ringtones and only like 5 backrounds...easy to get bored of this phone.

*Overall I would not reccomend this phone to anyone...It's worth it to get the upgrade.

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

n4aof submitted this review of the LG VX-3200:

Overall rating: 4 (out of 5)

Phonescoop seems to think Verizon has discontinued selling the LG VX3200 - this is true of the VZW website but not of the company stores who still have plenty of VX3200's.

Overall it seems to be about the best of VZW's "free" phones -- I just paid $40 (after rebate) for a VX5200 and three "free" VX3200's.

The VZW menus take a little getting used to, but good, bad, or indifferent, those are the same menus on all VZW phones now so once you get used to it, you won't have to learn a totally different system for another VZW phone.

Pros:
+ LOUD ringer
+ Strong vibrate
+ LOUD ringer PLUS vibrate
+ Plenty of handset volume
+ Clear color screen with good backlight
+ Adequate speakerphone
+ Voice Dialing
+ Adequate phonebook
+ LARGE type option for display
+- Touching any button (including side button) cuts off incoming ringer (does not cut off incoming call, just the ringer).
+ Speed dialing
+ Automatic answer on opening flip OPTIONAL

Cons:
- Limited choice of ringtones
- Limited choice of wallpaper
- MUST use some wallpaper, no blank background
- ALL the wallpaper pictures are busy
- Large type display is only large when entering manually dialing a number; then changes back to regular (small) type.
- No outside display

Things that can go either way:
+- No Camera
+- No Games

Solution to some of the Cons:
BitPim software and the VZW USB-to-Serial cable will let you replace the wallpaper with your choice of picture (including a blank picture if you want) and will let you add your own ringtones (as well as manage the phonebook from a computer).

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)

This is the third phone I have owned from metropcs. The problem is the charger. You have to move the plug that connects to the phone around just to get it to charge. Also, sometimes the phone will say "Phone Charge Complete", liar!!!! The phone is not charged at all. So you have to jiggle the plug around some more. AHHHH!!!

(Follow link to rate this review or report it to us as inappropriate.)
