Harex To Trial Wireless Payments At USC
Sep 18, 2002, 1:40 PM by (staff)
Harex InfoTech yesterday detailed plans to conduct a trial of its ZOOP™ Universal Mobile Payment Service at the University of Southern California (USC). The service will use the new Infrared Financial Messaging (IrFM) standard. Students and faculty will use Handspring Treo devices with a ZOOP payment application, Cingular Wireless service, and a virtual Visa card to make payments at infrared-enabled Point of Sale locations. USC's Bookstore will be the first merchant in the U.S. to go live with this wireless payment method.
