3G Set To Launch In Outback

Hutchison Telecommunications announced yesterday that its Australian 3G mobile network is ready for commercial use in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. The company said a "commercial quantity" of 3G phones will be available through 20 company-owned stores on April 15. The $3 billion UMTS/WCDMA network will trade under Hutchison's global 3G brand '3'.
