MetroPCS today said that it expects to cover 95% of its current CDMA network footprint with LTE by end of the third quarter of the year. It also expects that it will have inexpensive LTE smartphones (sub-$150) available before the back-to-school shopping season. The company surpassed 580,000 4G LTE subscribers, representing more than 6% of total customers, during the first quarter of the year. MetroPCS expects the combination of lower LTE handset cost, LTE network availability, and LTE service plan pricing to draw in more customers in the latter part of the year. The company is also banking on VoLTE as a product offering later this year, and believes its forthcoming VoLTE service will match its current CDMA voice capabilities by 2013. The company said that it finished the first quarter of the year with a total of 9.5 million customers and $2.2 billion in cash, some of which it will use for potential spectrum acquisitions.

Wow Impresive

Considering Metro is a Pre Paid service carrier I consider it's doing great job aquiring LTE bye end of year. Shame on Sprint...
Yeah that's pathetic that a tiny carrier like Metro is in a much better financial situation than Sprint!!!
