Ting to Support Sprint Devices By Year's End
Aug 23, 2012, 10:15 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Mobile network operator start-up Ting today announced that customers will be able to bring their own Sprint device to the network by the end of the year. Ting explained in a blog post that a selection of Sprint devices can be ported to its network, but not all of them. For example, Ting won't support the iPhone, BlackBerries, nor any traditional iDEN-based push-to-talk phone. Ting will support most Android smartphones and Windows Phone devices, though, as long as they are not under a contract. Ting said that it hopes to launch this "BYOSD" feature in the early part of the fourth quarter.
