Kodiak PTT Gains Momentum

Kodiak today announced that Amp'd has selected Kodiak RTX as its Push To Talk (PTT) client. Amp'd, an MVNO that will use Verizon's high speed EV-DO network, announced it would include PTT on all their handsets, but previously had not stated whose software they would use. Following on the Amp'd announcement, the second half of this year could been a big one for Kodiak, as indications from select manufacturers point to Cingular launching Kodiak RTX on their network as well. Currently Kodiak's system is only used by a few regional carriers in the US, however Orange, a large European carrier, also uses the system.

It would be nice to see Cingular get Ptt going.
Maybe this Kodiak will give them a nice advantage.
