ARM Debuts Three Mali GPUs for Mobile Devices

ARM today revealed three new GPUs that target high-end and mid-range smartphones. The Mali T800 series promises to deliver better multimedia performance as well as increased efficiency for all levels of hardware. The Mali-T820 is meant for volume smartphones and offers a 40% boost in performance compared to its predecessor. The Mali-T830 has a bit more horsepower, but still offers a 55% performance improvement. Last, the Mali-T860 targets high-end devices. It supports 4K video capture and playback, and also sees effiency gains when compared to its predecessor. The company also revealed a new video accelerator and a display processor to complement the T800 family of GPUs. ARM expects to see the Mali-T800 family in devices by the end of 2015.
