Google Pairs Its Home Speakers with Your Bluetooth Speakers

Google today said any of its Google Home speakers can now connect to other Bluetooth speakers in your house so you can control your music via voice commands and spread tunes around your home. Using the Google Home app, people can pair Bluetooth speakers directly with a Google Home, Google Home Mini, or Google Home Max. Once connected, say "Hey Google, play my evening playlist" to listen to your music directly on the nearest Bluetooth speaker. Google says this works without forcing users to specify which speaker the music should be played on. As long as speakers are added through the Google Home app, multiple speakers can play the same music in different rooms. The feature only applies to music and entertainment. Google says all other Assistant-based queries, such as getting weather updates, will need to be directed at a Google Home device. The new feature is rolling out to all Google Home products over the next few days.
