Skype Offering Beta App for Symbian Platform

Today Skype announced Skype for Symbian beta, a free application that brings Skype features to Symbian phones. Skype for Symbian supports free Skype-to-Skype calling; phone calls with Skype credits or subscription; receive calls on your online number; instant messaging; group conversations; and file sending and receiving. Skype for Symbian works over Wi-Fi or 3G data connections. This beta version of Skype for Symbian supports select Symbian S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 1 and 2 handsets, including the E71, E63, E51, and the N96, N95, N81, N79 and 6220 Classic/Navigator. Skype said a full release is planned for Symbian early in 2010.
