Biking Directions Coming to Mobile Google Maps. Eventually
Mar 10, 2010, 8:37 AM by Eric M. Zeman
Today Google announced a new feature for Google Maps that allows users to route directions for a bicycle. Biking directions offers a lot of ways to get from point A to point B by taking advantage of trails, known bike lanes and other information. Google says that route times are calculated using an algorithm that considers the length of the route, the number of hills, fatigue over time, and other variables. The new service is launching for the desktop version of Google Maps today, but Google said that it plans to introduce a mobile version of bicycle directions soon.
