Soon after announcing the launch of BlackBerry 6 on the new BlackBerry Torch smartphone, RIM has released its BlackBerry 6 SDK. The new developer kit offers access to the improved BlackBerry UI, among numerous other features. The improved WebKit Web browser and HTML5 capabilities will be available for developers to use in applications or mobile widgets. Developers can integrate location information and even travel times into their apps, using anonymous crowd-sourced data gathered from other BlackBerry devices. Apps will integrate with the new Universal Search feature to let users search the Web, other apps, e-mail, calendar and contacts.
