The W3C standards group last week released Composite Capability/Preference Profiles (CC/PP) 1.0, a standard for expressing device capabilities and user preferences. The information is used by servers to guide the adaptation of content to match the capabilities of different devices, such as cell phones and PDAs. CC/PP includes User Agent Profile (UAProf), an OMA standard already used in millions of cell phones.
