The new features are: fully integrated support for Windows 365 cloud capabilities, and Push To Talk (PTT) integration with the Walkie Talkie feature on Microsoft Teams.

Gabb is expanding its lineup of smart devices for kids with a new phone specifically targeted at teens. Unlike its watches and phones designed for younger kids, the new Gabb Phone 3 Pro does have some internet access and a curated app store with "apps that can be helpful or necessary at certain stages of teens' lives".

Universal messaging app company Beeper has a new app — Beeper Mini — that brings iMessage and "blue bubbles" to Android phones. Crucially — and unlike competing attempts to provide such functionality — the app communicates directly with Apple servers (instead of relying on relay servers or another device) and provides "full" end-to-end encryption.

Apple today launched Apple Intelligence, its big generative AI effort. Apple Intelligence focuses on personalized on-device AI, but also includes a limited cloud component for more advanced requests, and the option to use OpenAI's ChatGPT for certain types of requests.

In Google's developer keynote address at its I/O event this week, the company announced that it will bring the desktop-mode feature of high-end Samsung phones to Android 16. Google and Samsung have been working together on the new feature, which is built "on the foundation of Samsung DeX to bring enhanced desktop windowing capabilities in Android 16 for more powerful productivity workflows."
