You Can Now Edit Messages on Android

I have the Google Pixel 7a. I have updated it several times & I still can't edit any my text I send via RCS. When you press & hold down the message you want to edit their is no option to do so. Just brings up the emoji's to react to the RCS messages. So how do you edit then??

Are you sure the thread is RCS and not SMS or MMS?
It might require that the Messages app be updated at both (or all) ends to work.
Also note the time limit mentioned in the article.

Yup. Everything is updated & they are being sent as RCS & not SMS. Still doesn't work. When you press & hold the RCS message it comes up with just only the emoji reactions or create. No option to edit message.

I wish I could send you pics of what I am talking about. Just did another update 2 days ago & still no edit feature on top where the edit pencil should be. Mine is the copy delete star 3 dots. No edit pencils. Are you able to edit??
