Video Tour: HTC Droid Eris

Ok so like I have had my droid eris for 2 weeks now and Im freaking tired of the text message ringtone. My is "ascend" and I hate It now. Does any one know how to change it

Hey, Just wondering if anyone could tell me how to get my DROID Eris to save to my SD Card instead of my internal memory. I can't find an option to do that...

I love this phone but the battery life sucks. I stopped gettin online and I turned of a lot of stuff thinkin it wud help but the battery still dies after the phone has been on for roughly 4.5 hrs. my LG dare wasn't a smart phone but I could browse the web anytime I wanted and make phone calls and still get at least 7 hrs worth of battery life. how can I improve battery life on this phone other than simply not turning it on at all b4 I get home near my charger?

I keep reading about a swype version working on the Eris. How/where do you download it for free?

Does anyone else have this issue?

When charging via usb, the comptuer recgonizes the phone, and lets me know the device is plugged in. Now I dont want to install the drivers to this computer so it pops up the unknown device message. I close it and thats it. But when I simply move the phone a bit the message pops up agagin. This happens all thetime when I bearly move the phone. I'm thinking this could just be a simple usb issue, I have not done any troubleshooting on this just want to see anyonelse ideas outside of the obvious.

I was wondering if there was an app out on the market that helps you find your droid via a gps map on a laptop or something like that if I was to loose my phone...my friend had one for his blackberry so I figured Android being as big as it is would have something similar if not better....thanks In advance for any help or suggestions 😁

Was wondering if it was possible to increase or decrease the vibration on the phone. Curious because my wife's phone seems to be not as strong as mine. I can't find any settings ... thanks

I recently upgraded to 2.1 and now everytime i make a call and it connects a short vibration happens, how do i stop this?? Ive tries all different settings but nothing seams to work...

My phone is in spanish when I log go to facebook. How do I get it back to English?

This IS the official OTA release, albeit downloadable as a ZIP file. I'm in the process of doing it right now, and it seems to be working just fine. If the process appears to freeze up at any particular point (namely when deleting files), then BE PATIENT. It should resume shortly. I've been hearing that the process takes anywhere from ten to twenty minutes.

Has anyone had problems with speedials not being saved since the update. Voicemail is in the #1 spot, but I can not get the phone to save any more.

Just upgraded to 2.1. Does anyone know who the text to speach works?? Cant see how it works...

Since the 2.1 update, I've been far more interested in using widgets. I figured that it'd be nice for everyone to share which widgets they happen to use on a regular basis, as well as describe what they're like. Also, give everyone else an idea as to which sizes the widgets are available in (width x height, in tiles).

Don't bother listing built-in widgets or the HTC widgets (including the ones that you need to download). Those are obvious.

My Eris will be here Friday. Anyone have suggestions or recommendations on what apps i should download on my way to the beach??

I have my 4th LG Dare which I have been notified requires the new $30 data plan. I have had problems with this device and the money hungry verizon employees said "well if u wait til february, u can upgrade to anything for $50 or less" etc....

I want the Eris but online it says i have to change my plan.

Is there anyway to bypass this?? or is there another GOOD touchscreen phone i can upgrade and not downgrade to?? i refuse to go back to buttons and phones with small screens

this was posted at www.androidforums.com. it gives a full list of what will be in the update for the eris. it is coming but it does not say for sure when. i am running a "leaked" version of 2.1 that came from htc/verizon and it works great. just thought I'd share the news.

i recently found out that on April 1st...to make more room for another android powered phone from HTC they would cancel orgers for this fone an HTC would stop produncing it....which mean that VZW will supply us this fone till they run out then we get the Incredible....oh well..but i really liked this fone
