Newsflash: Insurance!
Guess what? Every insurance company, be it health, car, phone, etc...charges a deductible. It's cheaper than having to buy a brand new phone, but it's never free. If your phone is water-damaged, physically broken, lost or stolen, you will be paying for it and that is it. It doesn't matter if you've had it for two years, two months, two weeks, or two days.
I've just spent the last ten minutes listening to our floor manager explain this to someone who thiks the rules don't apply to him. Please don't be that guy.
phone recommendation
I have been looking at the Touch Pro 2 and the EVO. I am most concerned about syncing my phone to my outlook. I got used to using a stylus for taking notes on my Touch Pro and this is not available on the EVO.
Will the better processor and apps available be enough to justify NOT having an actual keyboard?
Also, is there a way to use Microsoft office products on the EVO?
I would really like the EVO, I just need to convince myself that it will work. Otherwise, I wait for a Touch Pro with a faster processor.
Any thoughts between the two, or a better ...

IS SPRINT REALLY GOING BANKRUPT?
Is it any wonder when their fees keep increasing exponentially while their subscribers are reducing at an alarming rate due to in some cases budget cuts, coverage, the lessening of the two-way system that made Sprint Nextel what they were?
As the prices of phones keep going up with the massive unnecessary options, the plans keep getting higher and higher priced as other companies bought up their competition and have rather successfully integrated their plans with little or no changes such as AT&T taking over Cingular Wireless. ...

Sprint Customer Service Sucks..........or so I am told.........
Customer escalates issue and tells me that her son hasn't used services for the last three weeks so it isnt fair that she should be billed for the month. Hmm....there apparently was nothing wrong the the phone or service, her son was just "so busy he didnt use his service" Further investigation on the account shows that there was significant usage the first week of the billing cycle, but there was little to none after that. The customer requests credit for the ENTIRE month of service because "its not fair to charge for the whole month if services are not used" After politely explaining to the customer that we bill her for the access to her contractual services for the month, and her usage is up to her, she grew angry. I further explai...

Threatening to cancel with Sprint?
-I'm going to cancel with you and go to Boost. They have better priced plans and better coverage!
(Sprint owns boost, but the plans are a little better. You get what you pay for though. As for the coverage? Well, again, sprint owns them. Coverage is either CDMA or IDEN, both of which is run on Sprint's network)
-I'm going to cancel with you and go to Virgin mobile! They have better priced plans and better coverage!
(Yeah, umm, Sprint owns them also. See previous comment)
-I'm going to cancel and go back to Nextel! 0_o
(Put down the pipe and walk slowly away)
-If you guys don't send me a new phone, without a contract, and make it free, I'm going to cancel all 5 ...

Sprint store>Best Buy, Radioshack, etc.
As a wireless consultant at a Sprint store, I often hear of customers opting to go to Best Buy or Radioshack to purchase devices with instant mail-in rebates. The appeal of this choice is clear: it's instantly cheaper than paying the in-store cost of a phone and waiting on the rebate.
But what if you have questions about the device? Best Buy's Geek Squad charges customers ($30?) to do email set-up and other necessary customizations on smartphones. Sprint offers the Ready Now service, which is free. Best Buy Mobile charges customers to do contact transfers and even to apply screen protectors.
My store does all of this and more for free.
Finally, what if your...

New HTC Update for Sprint HTC Hero released yesterday (v. 2.27.651.6)
It seems that on my wife's phone, it is a "hesitant" to connect to bluetooth. Ofcourse, I have not seen it for myself but rather only heard from her on the phone when she called while driving somehow. It also took 2-3 attempts to connect the call and actually hear voice transmission, albeit while not connected over BT. Anyone else experiencing any issues? 😕

Replies appreciated and Trolls need not reply. KEEP OUT TROLLS!!
My store is a disaster.
For starters, the whole operation is a franchise. This means that while my store sells Sprint products, it's not controlled by Sprint directly. Some guy owns it. Thus, we sell our phones at before-rebate prices (like any corporate store) but we lack a repair center, so we can't repair what we sell. We're almost completely impotent. Sometimes, I feel like I work at an overpriced Best Buy that offers Ready Now. One of our main goals, according to my manager, is to 'mimic' a corporate store. What a joke! This is where our problems begin. We're NOTHING like a corporate store. All we can do is push product and tell...
