Sanyo to Verizon-Help Please
I have had a cell phone for quite a long time. I have had Sprint and Verizon and like them both. I have also worked for both but it has been a while ago. I currently have Verizon because of there coverage. However like most others out there apparently I am not a huge fan of Verizon’s phones. I am not one of these people that are interested in a camera phone but instead want the best call quality possible as well as reception. What I very much want to do and do not really care how much money it takes to get it done is get the Sanyo SCP-5400/RL 2500 and or the SCP-5500 / VM4500 working on Verizons network. You have a very good question however the answer is no, Because it was not approved for the system.

Approved? May I ask what you mean by this? Do you mean that it is illegal or that it just plain will not work with the Verizon system? I ask why it wont work because are they not the same frequency? Thanks,

They can get phones from Korea to work, at least that's what they say in ebay, so I can't see how sprint phones can't work on Verizon network.

If Verizon and Sprint PCS were GSM carriers then it would be possible, but they are not. Verizon and Sprint PCS are CDMA carrier, and the phones are designed to work Specificly with THIER network. There has been stories of people activating Sprint PCS phone on Verizon Wireless, but *I* have never seen one, and I work at Verizon...
*IF* it is possible, none of the phone special feature will work. All the phone will do it make and recive calls. SMS, Web, PTT, etc.. WILL NOT WORK!
And Verizon phones get great reception anyways. I have a Nokia 3589i from Verizon and it is always Full balls just like my Sprint Sanyo 5300 and SE T608.
