5G just crossed 3 billion subscriptions worldwide. 660 million added in 2025 alone. North America is already at 79% penetration. Meanwhile, 4G lost 77 million subscribers in Q1 2026. The shift is real and accelerating fast.

Most 5G talk is still about speed tests and coverage maps, but something bigger is happening behind the scenes. Verizon just expanded its partnership with Ericsson to deploy private 5G edge networks for enterprise customers worldwide. Instead of routing data to a distant server, it gets processed on-site, cutting lag to single-digit milliseconds. That's huge for things like warehouse robotics and factory automation where even small delays cause shutdowns.

Here's why it matters to regular users too: when carriers invest this heavily in infrastructure, it eventually shapes the public network experience as well, better spectrum efficiency, stronger backend architecture, more reliable performance overall.

Best MVNO of Verizon

Okay so I've been using Infimobile for a while now and honestly? I'm surprised more people aren't talking about it.

It runs on Verizon's network, so the coverage is exactly what you'd expect strong signal, reliable calls, no dead zones in places where Verizon normally works fine. The difference is the price. Like, a huge difference. We're talking $119 for the whole year for 15GB of data with unlimited talk and text. That's not a monthly price. That's yearly.
Setup was super easy too. SIM card showed up in a few days, activation took maybe 3 minutes, and it just worked. No headaches.

Anybody else here using Infimobile? Would love to hear your experience!

Verizon increased rate plan

My mom called me and advised me that Verizon had gone up on her bill. I thought it was a fee or something. However, they actually increased her rate plan by six dollars. We called Verizon and even asked for retention. The rep was unyielding. Verizon is something else. They are willing to shed existing customers. My mom decided to port out to Consumer Cellular.

Get a recording when trying to dial out...any help would be greatly appreciated.

70 percent of the time when I try to make an outbound call, I receive this pre-recorded message. "To complete your call please re-enter the 10 digit number you are calling without hanging up and do not pressing send. Star 67 and star 82 can not be used on this call to block caller id." Even though it says I have two bars of signal, I think my phone and the connection between the tower is lost or maybe not registering. What can I do to solve this problem? Thanks in advance!

Phones not working with Verizon

This is robbery! They have produced sim cards that don't work with any phone, except the new phones sold by Verizon! I went to 2 store locations and spent hours on the phone with tech support -- they couldn't connect neither of these 3 working phones to my line: moto g7 (new phone), moto g4, galaxy 5 (verizon phone). In the meantime when t-mobile popped their sim into my moto g7, everything works perfectly. Now, you tell me if this is not robbery?!!

VerizonWireless Bill Pay Blocked

Why is my on-line Verizon Wireless Bill Pay blocked? I can't get them to unblock on-line bill pay. They leave everything else active. Don't they want my money?

Has anyone else had this problem? How did you get it solved?

VERIZON WILL NOT LET ME PUT ANYTHING ON THEIR REVIEW PAGE AT ALL ABOUT THIS PHONE AND THEIR TERRIBLE SERVICE BECAUSE THEY ARE BEING ILLEGAL AND ONLY SHOWING GOOD TO MEDIUM REVIEWS AND WILL NOT ALLOW ME TO TELL OTHERS THE TRUTH AND THAT IS WRONG FOR IF THEY WOULD HAVE ALLOWED IT TO BEGIN WITH I WOULD HAVE BEEN WARNED AND NOT BOUGHT THIS PHONE!! Question for Call Center Folks

In my VZW call center we just got the results of a bid for working Christmas and I was drafted (started working here bout 8months ago). Does anyone know what would happen if I call in sick that day? I've never ever worked Christmas Day in my lifetime and I don't have any friends or family who have either. Of course HR doesn't bother telling you these things when you are interviewing (I probably would have stayed where I was had I known I'd be working and Thanksgiving and Christmas days) Any who let me know if you have heard anything about sick people on Christmas Day. ☹️

Anyone have this weird call...???

This has been going on for a couple of weeks now.

This guy calls in and wants a store location in Kansas City, MO (however, I think this has changed to Jacksonville, FL now). So the rep starts pulling up the store locator.

The caller then asks the rep if he/she has ever been on a greyhound bus?

The rep replies yes/no.

The caller then will ask what if the bus had made a stop and left without someone and you saw that person running after the bus. What would you do? How long would you let that person run after the bus before you told the driver.

I think the outcome of the call depends on your answer to the greyhound bus question. Some reps tells me he hangs up on them while they're looking up a store and others have been on the p...

Can't get txt msgs from sons

Hi, I am an 86 year old man & I can't get text messages from my sons. I have a Palm Treo700W that I bought years ago. I worked for IBM for years and we had backup galores. With that as a background you won't be surprised that I bought 7 Palm Treos as backup.

Verizon Moto Z Droid Play and other "Verizon Only" "Droid" phones on MVNO

Hello all,

I'm in the process of changing my mvno. I now have 5 lines with Cricket (At&t) and use a OP3. I have recently moved and now need Verizon's network. I am planning on moving 4 lines to Total Wireless (TW) and dropping the last. So I'm preparing for the conversion, and will be needing new phones. I like the ZTE Axon 7 but what I really want is the "Moto Z Driod Play" ( https://www.motorola.com/us/products/moto-z-p lay-droid ) on TW. So I've been reading for what seems like days and need some help or clarification. I chatted with a rep on moto's site and asked him that very question. Can I activate a Moto Z Driod Play on a mvno like "Streight Talk" or "Total Wireless"? He said yes, just use the BYOP option and it'd be no probl...

cell site capacity

Does Verizon have the capability to increase cell site 4g data capacity? I work in a remote area and there is a large number of users that are in the area temporarily. Web service has slowed to a crawl, and I herd Verizon can increase capacity from the NOC.

There are usually about 500 people working off the site and the increase has been double that. Also the next closest sell site is 10 miles away.

LG L70

Just a quick question... my dad just got a new LG phone and I took his LG L70. My problem is I hit the reset button instead of just taking his email accounts off. Now without a phone # for the phone it will not let me do anything except the Set Up Wizard which does not help because it will not let me get off the Set Up page. Please help. I use an app for texting and calling and could really use some help!

Beware of Costco cell phone stand business practices!!!!

I have been a Verizon wireless customer for over 10 years and a Costco customer over 12 years. Last year I bought
2 cell phones from the "2 man" operation inside Costco wherehouses, because
they told me if anything should happen they would replace my cell phones "no
questions asked". I bought them there because the last 2 cell phones I had gotten from Verizon weren't very dependable Mad ....Now, A year later I am having problems with my cell phones draining batteries, I took it to Costco and they said it was the phones....I
said ok, I want to switch them for another phone, or the same if you have them.....they said ok, but you need to bring everything back with them. (including the cheap leather cases they gave me as a bonus which lasted...
