Can someone tell me how verizon coverage is from Ocala to Gainesville to Lake City, Florida?
I have heard a lot of bad things, like ATTWS doesn't have coverage in these areas. And T-Mobile is okay along I-75, Cingular lost a law suit for 12 million dollars. And Sprint has the worst costumer service.
That leaves me with Verizon. If you can help me in this matter, I would be grateful.
Also can you recommend a good phone that has great reception that includes Analog?
Thanks!!!! 🙂

Cant help you with VZW coverage... But Nextel offers conservative coverage maps at their web site... Go to Nextel.com and type in your zip code(s) for an idea of coverage in your area. I don't think Verizon does this for their customers. Good luck.
It is what it is.

Verizon is covered the whole way through Gainesville to Ocala to Lake City. I have friends in Gainesville and Ocala and they say the service is awesome.

The new Verizon Wireless America's Choice maps show where your phone will get service, be in roaming or just not get a signal at all. At least the one's in my market do. The best way to get information is word of mouth though, if these people that use Verizon in that area say it works, I doubt they'd lie to you about it! 🙂

Verizon is 1900 in Florida and while doesn't have the best in-building coverage as the 800 MHz providers (AT&T, Cingular, and NEXTEL), at least in the SE area of Florida that I'm familiar, should provide decent outside and vehicle coverage if that is what your looking for.
The center of the state is spotty for all of the systems as a good portion of it is everglades and/or agricultural and not very developed.

Get a VZW Digital Choice Plan.. It is a Local plan, but There are NO ROAMING charges withing your Home service area, which would be The entire state of Florida. So you can roam on whoever has a signal in those areas and not be charged, except for minutes.

Coverage is great all the way from Ocala, through Gainesville and into Lake City. Made the drive many times myself, with my trusty VZW phone and never lost a bit of signal.

Thanks for that info qagirl. Can you recommend a good or gredat vrz cell phone that still has analog? What do you think of the up and coming of some the newer phones, mainly Samsungs?
Thanks!

I recommend the LG 4400. I've bought many of the newer phones that have come out after the LG, but I always end up changing back to the 4400 because it has performed the best. Especially in the areas you were inquiring about.
