So now with Verizon's new share everything plans. Can you add mobile hot-spot or tethering for free?? 🤨

Yes. There is no additional feature charge. One just consumes data toward one's limit.

It appears that there is no longer an extra charge for tethering regardless (if I'm understanding the latest news RE the FCC and VZW correctly).

That's not what the news is saying. They can't block tether apps on the market anymore, especially on 4G phones.
