Data plan switched
Verizon switched my unlimited data plan to a 2 gig plan and told me nothing about it at the store. I didn't notice the change till I received a bill with a ten dollar increase about 6 weeks later. I have been trying to get plan back but so far no good. I told them they were completely dishonest for doing this and should honor my previous contract. Now that I have been made aware of this new change I will know that in the future if I accept an upgrade discount pricing on a data phone I will automatically go from the unlimited to a 2 gig plan. Until then I will make as many people aware as I can.

So did you do an upgrade or not? If so it's been policy and very public since June. It would have been on the contract you received.

The rep never told me my plan would change. I could have received a replacement phone for free and not done upgrade. This was a few days after the new changes in policy and i was not made aware. No excuse for what happened.

I don't disagree it shouldn't have happened without telling you. I could see it easily happening though. Considering the system automatically does it with basically no employee intervention and it happens for every single upgrade it's just kind of routine.

When you upgrade your phone at a discounted price, you will lose your unlimited data plan. But the salesperson shoudl have told you if you weren't aware of the change. There's no way for you to get your unlimited data plan back. ☹️

The Top Three Lies committed by humans in the history of mankind:
(3) "No, nothing's wrong" by any woman to her boyfriend/husband
(2) "I mailed you people a check last week" told to any bill collector
(1) "I have read and understand the terms and conditions of this agreement" by any customer of any cell carrier
Which one applied to this thread?

Call corporate. Tell them you are willing to go back to your old device and do the warranty exchange. They're not dishonest. They're merely evil. If you're willing to give up the new handset I am sure that someone in management will be happy to accommodate you.
