ne2, cotracts, and alternate upgrades
No more NE2 credits...they took away the ones people have been holding onto.
Now, we can't use non-phone alternate upgrades. So if a customer has a line upgrade on an hpc but wants to use it to get a new phone....nope, cant do it.
Also, whats the deal with verizon going the t-mobile way and getting right of contracts and subsidized pricing?
anyone have insight or information on this stuff??

Not sure why the phone-only alternate upgrades. People with NE2's were notified by a special mailer to "use it or lose it." Also, expect a new comprehensive policy on phone switching when your chosen phone goes south and multiple refurbs fail to fix the issue. Currently there's no real policy, just a bunch of ad hoc rules. All of these new equipment policies point to the industry trying to tighten up on losses due to phones.

"Losses" 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
Er...they sell air. Pure profit. The only thing that really burns profits are employee salaries. They are getting over all day every day. "Losses" 😛

??? Phone subsidies are the single largest controllable factor to the bottom line. I takes approximately 15 months for the carrier to break even on high end phones.

Sure, I'll work for free. You do it too, and see how long you enjoy it.

I think that all these changes are a sign that VZ is going to try and buyout Vodafone. The money to do that needs to come from somewhere. Reducing phone subsidies and increasing profit per line by extending upgrade dates on contracts seems like a good way to get the billions needed for a buyout.

Thats very possible. With the money that Verizon Communications is losing daily, they need to figure out how to gain profits somewhere. Verizon Wireless is a good place to start.

Indeed Verizon is trying to. . .
