Switched Sim Card and activated phone myself. Bad Idea?
I did the swap carefully and yes now 12 hrs later the MAXX is running beautifully and with no hiccups.
My wife seems to think I have to inform Verizon of the switch as it could cause trouble if I dont. I dont see the need really so that is my question? Does V really need to know and why?
As for swapping out phones, the only time Verizon has to be notified, is when you have to call in to activate a phone with an ESN or MEID number. New Verizon phones now use the same standard as GSM phones, by using a SIM card. As long as the phone is carrier supported, or an unlocked phone that has the same frequencies as that carrier, it no longer requires calling into the carrier, or going online to change phones.
