Moving to Verizon, maybe...phones?

hi all,

I might be porting out from T-mobile to Verizon Wireless just for better coverage when traveling...I want to know which phone in your opinion is better...The Krzr K1M or the Chocolate? I want a phone that I can take 30 second clips of MP3's and set them as ringtones, and i believe from Hofo that you can do this with both phones...

also does verizon give better discounts ever? I know with t-mobile if you complain enough they will cut prices on phones and what not.

Thanks, any info is appreciated

question regarding NE2...

I recently spoke to a rep who told me that I was eligible for my NE2, even though I purchased a Q (at full price) in June. Anyway my question is, since I'm eligible for the upgrade and the $100 off, is it possible for me to purchase a phone(such as the Samsung SCH-A990) with the discount, then sell the phone to a friend, and go back to my Q with no issues?

If this is possible, would it be better to purchase the phone online or at the store? And would I have to activate the phone on my own account first and keep it for a while before I give it to my friend? Thanks.

VZ Navigator

My two-year contract is up, so I can get a new phone if I want to. I currently have the Audiovox 9900 and love it, so I'm in no rush to get a new one, but I would like one with VZ Navigator. Since this is a fairly new feature, do you recommend waiting a while for more phones that will have that feature or should I choose from the phones that are currently available. Any phone recommendations?

Customer Service Rep......YOU SUCK!

I wish I knew her name and ID, but she REFUSED to give it to me.

I'm an indirect agent. We are NOT owned by Verizon, we have account managers we report to and get our instruction on how to properly assist our customers. We have been told REPEATEDLY to NOT call the Customer Service 800-922-0204 number. That line is to be left for Customer problems only. We are to only call the activations support line, and if they are unable to assist, they are to transfer us from there. We have been told by our Account Managers that we are to follow in code the "Agent when to Call Document", and that document, shows no other number than our activations support (option 4 for account maintenence).

So, this being the case.......tell me why I just had...

great convo with one of the industries best analysts

Mr Seybold, an earlier answer you posted seems quite negative on WiMax. With all the investment behind it from Intel, Samsung, Sprint, Motorola etc... what are your expectations for WiMax. Thanks

Andy Seybold: Roy, I am not "negative" on WiMAX it is just not the jump in technology that the companies trying to promote it pretend that it is. It is comparabile with today's fully mobile EV-DO and UMTS systems when it is compared on a like for like spectrum basis. There is a place for WiMAX but it is NOT a 4G or existing Wireless killer, it is another wireless technology that has a place in the world, again, I keep saying, voice pays the bills in wireless, voice pays the bills, data is more expensive to deliver and remember that a full...

official response from vzw regarding get it now

this is directly from vzw no opinions of speculation enjoy..

Official response to why VZW does not offer applications and ringtones free of charge
* Verizon Wireless offers downloadable software applications and content that is protected by licenses and copyrights

* Verizon Wireless respects and insists upon the right of the software developers who provide Get It Now applications to reap the benefits of their labors

* Verizon Wireless requires extensive lab and field-testing of the Get It Now applications we choose to offer, to ensure that our customers get the highest-quality applications in the marketplace today

* Some software developers offer applications intended for widespread distribution to wireless phone users; but un...

New Phone Opinions

I'm anxiously waiting to get my new phone. The dilemma comes between the LG 9900 or the 8600. For those of you who've seen the phones, are they worth waiting for (if so, which one) or should I just break down and get the chocolate now? Thanks in advance for your input.

Why are so many calls going directly to my voice mail?

I have called VZW for the last time. I come here in hopes for an answer.

I have tried E815, 8300, KRZR.

So far the KRZR seems to be the best but I have missed 3 calls today that went directly to VM. I am in Charlotte NC, I have had no less than 4 bars and an EV-DO signal. My phones have all had latest software, *228 update, yada yada. I have seen a DRAMATIC DECREASE in Verizon call quality and reliability as have several friends and family members from NY clear down to Florida.

Cell service is of no use to me if the calls don't come through.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
