Verizon wireless’ subscriber growth from 2003-2005.

I wanted just to touch on what Verizon got from 2003-2005 and just make sure everyone understands how on fire this company is.

In 2003= they got 5.025 million subscribers with an average churn of 1.83%, and an ARPU of $48.78

In 2004= Verizon got 6.294 million subscribers with an average churn of 1.5% with an ARPU of $49

In 2005= Verizon got 7.4 million subscribers with an average churn of 1.3% and an ARPU of about $49

So just based on that 1 million per year increase from 2003 to 2005 one can assume that Verizon will probably seek the 8.6 million for the year of 2006, which gives them an average 2.15 million per quarter for the 4 quarters during the year.

Any opinions or thoughts with my post please share.

Bluesnarfing vs 'crippled' bluetooth

I've never complained about Verizon crippling the bluetooth because I recall the ScreenSavers show on techTV where these individuals demonstrated bluesnarfing. See the link:

Does anyone know if Verizon bluetooth is truly immune to this?

Samsung 730

I have had people tell me this exists, but i have yet to ever see one and was curious if and where you could find a camera attachment for this phone. I always just assumed you were sol in the camera department if you had this phone but people keep insisting it exists.

Moto V325: Hardware or Software?

I know by now that all phones have GPS location technology for emergency calls. The V325 is being marketed as a GPS phone, however, and includes the ability to use it for driving directions, etc. What makes this phone different (I have the LG VX-8100; highly recommend it)? Is it a software difference that VZW will eventually put onto all phones?

Thanks.

LG vx-9000

There is a picture of the LG vx-9000 in today's NY Times. Article states that there is an Oct. 1 2006 release date. It looks like this will be the new flagship phone. It has a swivel screen that turns sideways so you can watch the upcoming subscription (more$$) TV shows on your phone.
Any one have more info??

No More NE2 $100 credit, $50 starting in Feb?

A couple verizon reps on hofo have all ready confimed this. If you are on a rate plan of 79.99 or higher you still get NE2 100 credit if not 50 bucks only ☹️ Major bs if true. All new sign ups only get 50. Anyone else confirm this? Thanks

Verizon wireless reports 4th qt 2005 earnings.

Obviously, it was an impressive 4th quarter 2005 for Verizon wireless again and as mentioned before they got 2 million net subscribers.

The following are the highlights of the quarter:

Retail direct adds were = 1.8 million net subscribers
Wholesale/prepaid= .2 million net subscribers
Total net subscribers= 2 million subscribers
Churn= 1.2%
ARPU= $49

Total subscribers= 51.3 million

They continue to be the leader in the wireless world by quarter growth and as mentioned earlier by the end of 2006, in my view, I think they will reclaim that top spot from Cingular.

Opinions?

Uploading Vcast music on LG8100

I had my LG VX8100 dropped off to have the software upgrade.

I was shocked to get my phone back with over $120 worth of games erased.

They should warn customers about this.

I might get a credit but MY SCORES, MY TIME, MY RANKINGS ALL GONE.

This was a stupid mistake and the Vcast music does not work yet.

If you add the software change the feature it is not the same Vcast.

REBEL! Wireless???

Anyone know anything about it.

I saw a commercial about it coming soon.

The commercial mentions unlimited local and long distance and text messaging for $47/ month.

Does anyone care to elaborate. Supposedly they have a website at www.rebel.us, but when i went there it said still under construction.

Refurbished phones and VZW store personnel

This is the same post I made under "Indirect Agents". I'm starting a new thread with it because I really want to get your feedback. (Thanks!) Here it is:

I'm not trashing VZW as a company; overall, they're very good. Excellent phone-based customer service, to take one example. BUT... I've had bad luck with salespeople in my local VZW store: unfriendly, apathetic, slo-o-o-o-w service and poor knowledge of their products and technologies.

Also, I dislike VZW's return policy once you get past the initial (15-day?) "grace period". Even if your phone is brand new, you can only get a refurbished replacement phone in this circumstance. Which would be fine if the refurbished ones were "like new" - but they aren't. On one occasion the refurb...

Is anyone not happy with Verizon's phone portfolio or just me?

having been Verizon's customer the past 3 years, I'm looking for a new phone to replace mine but have found no luck. The LG VX6000 came out as the first camera phone was a slam dunk, but the following phones have not been very impressive lately compared to other carriers? Anyone has the same feeling?

Phone suggestions?????????

Ok so I'm the type that I get a phone and usually stick with it for about a year or more so when I upgrade I like to get the best available phone on the market. Being that I dont purchase phones very frequently tho, I'm not really up on what is the best out there. So can anyone give me some suggestions and reasons why they recommend a particular phone? Thanks.

GSM truetones vs CDMA true tones

why is it that gsm phones have better truetones than cdma phones? does anyone else notice this or have an expanation?

i was at the mall and my friend just got a cingular X497 and her turetones are truly "true", they sound like the song. and my phone on the otherhand(sch-a670) has horrible true tones, when it rings it sounds like static is coming from the phone.(i know its just not my phone because this is my 2nd, i took my ist in b/c it was having reception issues and the tones sounded just as bad.)

i am assuming that it has to deal with the carrier since the phone even though they are different makes, they come from the same company (Samsung)

Thanks
