Phone Insurance

I took advantage of Verizon's two for one special and purchased two Samsung a670's this weekend. Could somebody tell me if purchasing phone insurance on them makes sense? Thanks!

Verizon stinks for new phone selection!

I am a very loyal customer with Verizon Wireless. Have been with them for a number of years now. I am ready to upgrade my two year old v60i.
WHY DOES VERIZON STINK FOR THE CHIOCE OF PHONES!!!!! The v710 is way more than I need and Samsungs just does not cut it. Why is there a sudden slow down over the past year for cutting edge phone selection at Verizon? Have they become conservative with their phone selection. I see phones on other carriers which were just approved a few months ago! I am basically complaining because I would like more Motorola phones at a Verizon store. There is not much to choose from!
I want the v810 or v265, but Verizon probably will not carry either.

Anyone care to comment on thier methodology?

I HATE Radio Shack & their association with VZW...

I just spent 90 minutes fixing a customer's account that had been screwed up by some ass-clown of a RS employee.

This is the story, as far as I can figure it out:

Customer walks into 'Shack. Customer wants to buy 1 phone on a $99 LDC plan, with 2 lines sharing the minutes of the first one. Should be about $140/month. Easy, right? Wrong.

Employee activates the first line properly, as best I can tell. Then, he puts the second line on a Level 2 account, and can't figure out why it won't let him do a share... so he puts ANOTHER $99 plan on THAT phone. Same thing happens with the THIRD line... meaning that the MRC of all 3 lines will be $299.97 BEFORE proration. After proration, it's more like $500.

Employee doesn't tell customer, and...

Need help from VZW rep.

I see on the web site I have the option to upgrade my phone. I want the new Mv710 to replace my primary line phone. The problem I have is I'm only at about the halfway mark of my 2 year.

My current phone is on a deal that I guess they don't do anymore which is installments. In other words, when I got it, I just signed an installment agreement and they do something wierd like charge me $25 a month for the phone and then give a $12.50 credit because it was a $599 retail PDA phone but with my NE2 and extra loyal customer discount (I was friends with a store rep. at the time) it worked out to be $300 net cost for the phone.

When I go to the web site and select upgrade to the v710 it quotes a price of $419 with no rebate, etc. I underst...

Future phones

I see phones that automatically start doing your laundry when you come home, then it cooks you dinner and massages your feet. It looks like a Jetson home.

Side note: In the future people will realize that VZW doesn't make the phones, The manaufacturer's are the one with quality issues. VZW realizes/knows that there is a quality issue and maybe they're working on it w/ the mft's.

sick of VZW might switch back to Cingular

Sick of VZW I don't like their upgrade policy. I don't like the fact that you have to wait 2 years to upgrade to a new phone.I've had VZW for almost 2 years now and for the last 2 months I haven't had a phone.I already paid over $400.00 for new phones. All the phones that VZW has are cheap and I'm sick of charging my phone everyday.Other than that VZW has awesome coverage and customer service. At least with Cingular I can upgrade my phone every 6 months. And you can also find GSM phones cheaper on the web than CDMA phones.

Porters Beware: Verizon may be overcharging you

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but Verizon, in their negligence and incompetence, billed me for the wrong phone number and tried to charge me $700 for it. After spending hours on the phone, day after day, Verizon continued to blame me for the problem and tell me I don't how to make phone calls on my own phone.

Two months later

I call Verizon, who refused to call back to let me know if they will fix "my" problem, and they admit after an hour that they "misbilled" me because they are have porting problems they have been unable to adjust in their system. So the people I talked to who ported their numbers to Verizon were coming up as MCI and AT&T.... issues. Anyways, in tears looking at this bill, I'm thinking, "NEGLIGEN...

V60s or Alternatives

Greetings,
I'm going to be upgrading my service plan and getting a new phone as soon as I reach the end of my current billing cycle (about two weeks.) I stopped by a local VZW store today just to see what they had available and talked to the sales guy there. I'm eligible for a NE2 upgrade and I've already fulfilled the current obligations of my contract and am going month-to month now.

When I went into the store I was looking primarily at three phones. The Nokia 6587i, The LG VX 32600 and The Motorola v60s. I've done some research and I know that I want a fairly basic tri-mode phone that has excellent reception, is sturdy enough to last me two years of everyday use, and is economical. Each phone has it's pros and cons. I have no use ...

Need your expert opinion...which phone to get.

My 2yr contract is up soon and I don't plan to switch carriers. I made the mistake of getting the T720 19 months ago and wish to avoid the same mistake. I most likely will do the New Every 2 plan again.

I never play the video games and would rarely use the camera. What do you think is the best available (or soon-to-be-released) phone offered by VZW?

I'm a businessman so sound quality, battery life, and reception are far more important than the cool gadgets that phones come with. If the best phone has these gadgets, fine. I just don't have to have them.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

V60 in Mercedes

My mom just informed me that she purchased a new Mercedes with the integrated cell phone package...

Now she has to choose between staying with AT&T (her contract is up) or going with VZW.

Questions...
Does anybody know if she has to go with a V60 or can she choose a different phone?

Also, how does it affect her plan?

And if she decides to go with VZW how does the account set-up work?

NE2 and 1 year contract

2 years ago, I signed up with Verizon on a one year contract. I've been very satisified to date. When I bought the phone at RS, I was told about the NE2 program. I called Verizon today (on another matter) and was shocked to find out that the rep failed to tell me that I needed a 2 year contract in order to get the $100 rebate. Since I've been a customer for two years now and will probably sign on to another contract, is there anyway I can get the $100 off? I've been looking forward to this rebate for a long, long time (I still am using the same phone from two years ago). I live in the Northern Virginia area, if that helps. Thanks for any info you can provide.
