Wireless telecom provider Verizon (NYSE: VZ) has been trouncing AT&T (NYSE: T) for months in surveys of customer satisfaction and loyalty. But a recent survey by ChangeWave Research shows dropped calls are a growing problem for AT&T. Even Sprint Nextel (NYSE: S) and T-Mobile — a subsidiary of Deutsche Telecom (NYSE: DT) — could see gains as customers think of leaving AT&T over the network troubles.
Specifically, a March survey of 4,040 smartphone customers was conducted by ChangeWave Research, InvestorPlace.com’s consumer polling and research division. In it, Verizon customers reported only 1.5% of their calls being dropped over the past three months, the lowest in the smartphone industry. This is also the lowest percentage...

Ya, its from the first quarter of this year. So ya i would say it is new information. We just started the second quarter May 1st and this was posted May 4th. So my question to you is, are you unable to read or do you not understand how quarters work in a year?

I understand it just fine. I just don't give a crap about the same news being posted every quarter. Seems like network rankings have been the same through jd power, consumer reports, and all other companies for years.

Oh and PS, I'm pretty sure the 2nd quarter started april 1st.

If enough customers leave, then the dropped calls should decrease. Maybe this will entice ATT to finally upgrade their network?

I guess having famous people throw postcards of major cities onto a large map doesn't actually improve their network, does it? Coverage doesn't matter if it doesn't support all the people trying to use it! 🤤

LOL !!!!! But i don't want to see AT&T fail, i like competition. But hopefully if they loose maybe 10-15 million customers their networks may improve. But on the other side, Verizon has more customers, yet their network had alot less dropped calls.

Yes, because CDMA pwns GSM, and Verizon has spent a ton more on their network than ATT has. It's what they get for trying to uphold older technology.

AT&T will use the money it should be using to expand it's network as a base to sue the person who runs that ad.

Then they would run an ad; "ATT could be making your coverage better. Instead, they are sueing us for telling you the truth."

Then ATT would sue for that one. Rinse/repeat the process. Soon, ATT is broke.

Maybe they could get Jack Nicholson, Tom Cruise and Demi Moore back together in an ad. Let a Few Good Men, AT&T "Just Can't Handle the truth!"

With smartphones like the Moto Droid, HTC Incredible, and Evo, you won't be able to use that BS of an excuse much longer.
