AT&T Centennial Wireless Merger questions

I live in central Louisiana, and the carrier with the best overall voice coverage in this area is Centennial Wireless. Late last year AT&T was cleared to buyout Centennial. There were, due to competition some markets that would have to go to someone else (verizion?). I cannot find out what markets were excluded. Some surrounding markets havealready switched over. If my market goes to AT&T, I will as well. If it doesnt, I will not due to sketchy AT&T coverage here. I have asked reps in both companies stores and gotten conflicting answers. So anyone with any info please tell me. Oh , the market in question is Alexandria, La. Thanks in advance for your answers.

When ATT bought EDGE in my area, the EDGE phones worked fine for awhile, and then ATT required that all previous EDGE customers convert to ATT phones. That conversion killed our coverage, and many people in this area left ATT for that reason.

I'm not sure about the specifics of the Centennial Wireless buyout, this is just my experience with the EDGE buyout.
