Plan Advice

Hey i am planning on going to AT&T when my contract is up. The only thing is i may get the unlimited talk, text and data plan with them. 70+30=100. But i was only gonna get the unl talk so i didn't have to worry about going over mins, but lately i haven't been using up all my current mins with Verizon.

So 2 questions, 1) does 100 a month sound high for the 3 services? and 2) Is the unlimited talk plan worth it even for people who only use their phone alot once in a while? Like is it worth it for people who do not use all of their plan minutes??

You can save 10 a month if you do the 900 min rate plan. That plan includes A-list where you choose 5 numbers to call unlimited. What you save goes into your rollover bank. Hope this helps.

I assume iPhone...

450min/UNLText/UNLData = $40 + 20 + 30 = $90
900min/UNLText/UNLData = $60 + 20 + 30 = $110
UNLmin/UNLText/UNLData = $70 + 20 + 30 = $120

Depending on how much you text, you can do the $5(200) or $15(1500) text message plans to save money - shaving $5-20 off the monthly bill.

If you only "occasionally" go over 450 minutes, AT&T does have roll over.

If you go over 900, the same applies - but they also have the "Fav 5"/"A-List"/"Friends and Family" list of 5 numbers that don't use minutes. Add your most used numbers (changed as needed) that don't use your minutes when you call said 5 numbers.

So if you can go a few months without going over, you'll have a "bank" to draw from... really depends on your overall ...

Since he referred to $70 plus $30 for Unltd voice and data + text, I presume the original poster was referring to non-smartphone plans.

Also check with your employer to see if there are any discount plans - if there is a corporate plan, there are generally also individual discount plan eligibilities.

If you are a member of a labor union, discounts are also available there - go to http://www.unionplus.org/att-wireless.cfm

Forgot to note - the Unlimited Voice plan and the data/messaging features are not normally eligible for the discounts.
