question is:

Do ALL touchscreens requiresome sort of data/messaging plan? She does not use the internet or text... But I would pay the five a month for her, for a text plan if one of some sort were required, if possible.

Quick messaging devices require $20 in text/data packages to activate. The $30 family plan unl text counts I believe.

you'll have to talk to an ATT rep for that. But if it's anything like verizon, you'll need to buy her an older model phone off of ebay or something.

If the phone is a quick messaging phone (Samsung Solstice or Mythic or any other touch screen phone from them, LG, or Pantech)requires at least $20 worth of data and/or messaging on the line. Any touchscreen phone would require the Unlimited Data and/or Unlimited Text Package. Text phones should have text yes, this I don't agree with quite as much.

As previously mentionted you could buy an eBay phone and put her SIM in it.
