Monthly Bill
I have the opportunity to join ATT thru my parents line to make it a family plan. The lady at the ATT store told me that she'd waive the $35 activation fee. But that the monthly charges would be $45. What does that $45 get me per month? I thought it would cost me more to have an iphone than $45 a month.

I'm not sure on AT&T, but is sounds about right. $9.99 for the share line and $29.99 for the rerquired data package. so, $40/month + tax. As far as what it gets you, you'll share the minites on the plan with your parents and you get 2GB of data per month. If they also got the unlimited texts you get that too. The bad news is that you will suffer from the most dropped calls of any company and if you need customer service, I recommend going into a store and not calling them. 👀

I have had AT&T since 2007 and have only had about 4-5 dropped calls in the 3+ years. All depends on coverage in your area. Since your family has AT&T, ask them what the service is like.
Pricing would be $9.99/month for Fam Talk secondary line, $25 for 2GB personal data. I rec getting Unlimited Family Messaging ($30 charge applies to anchor line). Not sure where the additional $10 would come from - ask the store for a breakdown.
