Now AT&T is getting in the upgrade change game.
Sprint, Verizon, and now AT&T - all changing their upgrades. The end of the world is nigh, for some.
Engadget said
- Early upgrade pricing on new iPhones -- the standard subsidized price plus $200 -- will only be available six months into an existing iPhone activation.
- $50 and $100 discounts on top of subsidized pricing for upgrading customers -- similar to Verizon's recently-killed New Every Two program -- are going away. If you're currently eligible, you'll still be eligible to take advantage through July 23rd of this year.
I also saw that sprint will charging an extra $10 on smartphones for all new contracts after 1/30.
---wow, just looked at your link and it looks like some employee (who should probably fired) sceenshotted some proprietary info on the upcoming changes.
The Verizon iphone has shook up the wireless industry I guess...
---As I'm reading through that a little further what they're quoting as the way things are/were prior to the changes going into effect is wrong on a some of the bullets.
overage rates for texting aren't changing, they were 10 cents on both of the existing plans.
Activations on add-a-lines are currently $26, not $10
Gizmodo was claiming that Verizon didn't offer unlimited texting for a single line for $20 a month as well.
Definitely agree on the proprietary info posting - that is a terminable offense!
