i just dumped "big pink" due to their "#1 customer service" and just took possion of 2 cool phones (bb9800 & sam flight) i noticed right away att data is considerably faster on my blackberry verses my old tmo 9780 not a bad phone but the torch RULES by far so...
is at&t good in fort worth texas? i see a compatable to better signal and always 3g
(tmo flipped to EDGE often around my house)
is the 9800 4g ready? if not then it is fine because it runs like a deer on the internet
...
tou use 4g you will need a 4g phone. Sorry your torch will still be 3g
...
Marvin,
Welcome! I hope the store where you switched at took good care of you. I have stores here in DFW, so if you need a second opinion or need anything else, PM me. I'll make sure you are taken care of. Thanks.

still creeping will. no one cares how many phones you sell or how much you creep on att customers. blackberry torch is on 3g. but att does have the fastest 3g outta any carrier.
...
Historically, AT&T has been great in DFW. They inherited the Southwestern Bell infrastructure and 900MHz spectrum. Lately, things have not been as good. For now, I'm assuming the problems are related to their scramble to get LTE up and running.
...
I didn't have good luck with AT&T and I'm in the DFW area. Verizon has been much better. I used to have problems when the cowboys and rangers would play. Hopefully you will have better results.
...
hello tipdrill
would this be due to network capacity issues?
i am in the downtown and south ft worth area mostly hopefully far enough away from arlington
thanks
...
Hopefully you do. I definitely think it was an overcrowding issue asI was not too far from the events. I had the same problem at a Texas Tech football game in Lubbock. The game was at AT&T Stadium of all places and I got the lovely "No Service" banner. (still cracks me up) Hopefully people switching to the "4G" network will help with such issues.

That is hella funny
...
They need to bring in a CoW (Cell on Wheels) or CoLT (Cell on Light Truck) during those events. I'm pretty sure Verizon does for the Texas State Fair and the Oklahoma/Texas football game.
...
AT&T treating you so far?
...
well i ordered the phones through the website and they arrived 1 day later! good start att! i have not interacted with cs yet but i am getting excelent 3g coverage everywhere i go with my 9800 by the way not to throw stones but with the other GSM carrier i was getting EDGE at best in my building at work with my 9780 in downtown FW so i say.so far so great
...
Glad to hear it! Keep in mind different carriers have different service in different places. I've had 5 bars where Verizon has one and vice/versa. Hopefully we will make a your stay with AT&T lifelong by providing excellent service.
...
just an update. i just had my first interaction with phone customer service ZERO hold time a very nice and helpfull rep on the phone who promptly answered my questions maybe middle eastern but very easy to understand she even waived the $5.00 fee for paying the bill with a live rep nice touch! so far still love at&t one quesstion i forgot to ask.. do rollover mins start adding up on the next bill cycle for new custs or ?? and do you use all of your plan mins then get into rollover mins left?
thanks
...
Whatever minute in your plan that you do not use the first month goes into your rollover and you start building rollover from there. any questions give us a call at 611. 611 does not use your minutes to talk to us here at at&t.
...
still very happy with at&t a little more $$$$ than pink but you get what you pay for rock solid voice and faster data than my Clear on my laptop which runs on yellow "4g" if i am correct
...
the minutes remaining after the first full month not the partial first month) will go into rollover bank for you. the reason the partial first month don't rollover is because they are prorated (so you don't pay the fill price, either).

Take a look at the logos, plus he mentions a GSM carrier in the comments. That would be T-Mobile.
...
sorry trying not to drop names but yes t mobile and Clear i think uses Sprint's 4g wimax someone please correct me if i am wrong
...
🤨
Sprint uses WiMax which is Clear's technology.
T-Mobile uses HSPA+, just like ATT
...
and hope to have a signal!!!!
ATT SUCKS...unless you are in an open field 50 feet from one of their towers.
If thats the case....well, they still suck!
...
Why don't you move on to a different forum.
I don't know what you think your statements are supposed to "prove."
AT&T has the largest geographic coverage of any carrier. That's not to say that they have better coverage inside of every building in America but your comments are pretty short-sighted.
...
i get great coverage at my job indoors south of downtown fort worth my co workers have all the majors t mob, vzw, metro and sprint but we who have att have the most consistant reliable signal always 3g
...
go troll somewhere else
...
I have 2g and 3g, and I have no problems in buildings at all. Dallas,Texas.
