That's right. The new LTE phones coming out for AT&T support LTE in the 700 band, as well as 1700... the same band MetroPCS LTE service is on. Coincidence? I think not! O:

AT&T owns their own spectrum in both bands. I doubt we'll see LTE roaming any time soon.
LTE roaming could happen in the future, but that's not why AT&T's phones are designed to support AWS (1700). It's to support AT&T's own LTE network.
