Our two year contract is up with Cingular and we are now on a month to month basis. We have a family talk plan with 3 lines -- we pay $39.99 for the first line and 9.99 each for the two additional lines. We all have Samsung S307 phones and the service in our home is terrible -- two of the phones are especially bad. We have to stand near a door or even go outside in order to use the phone and not have dropped calls.
We would prefer to remain with our existing plan and not enter into a contract, since we are happy with the current rate and amount of shared minutes we have. We are eligible for phone upgrades, but if we don't sign a new contract, do we have to pay full price on the phones? Does anyone have any suggestions other th...

Question about AT&T wireless towers....
Ok i heard different things nd now i want a straight up answer. Since the Cingular/AT&T unification, Cingular has since had better recepion. I was just wondering are the towers for cingular and the towers for ATT still seperate or do they both blanket over each other. By this i am asking if ATT's towers act as a backup in places where Cingular's original towers don't exist? or is reception combined by the two?
I also heard that to save money, Cingular killed off all ATT towers where Cingular towers already exist.. can anyone clarify?

WHAT THE HECK IS WRONG WITH CINGULAR
What the heck is going on with cingular's customer service? I am absolutely disgusted with them. I have a Sony Ericsson W600i that I purchased November 29th. I recieve it Friday december 2nd. THe following monday I call to exchange it because the games and applications arent working. No big deal... A week later I call back because I havent received anything yet, (that was last tuesday), After being on hold for 2 hours cingular says my order wasnt put in..all this time on the phone and that includes being tranfered, given a differnt number, and still nothing? C'mon? and after all that waiting the machine picks up and says all reps are busy with other people leave your name and number and we'll call you back. I wait.. I DONT get a call back. ...

UMTS network / phone launch
With January right around the corner, it is probable to think that the UMTS network launch is coming anytime soon? Along with that, the phones to launch with it, like the Samsung zx10 is supposted to be one of them.
This might be a tough question to add to that, but does anyone know what kind of UMTS or HSDPA coverage we will have..large coverage, or just 16 cities for now...?

This may be a weird question but what are the chances cingular goes out of business?
im a cingular customer and I just came up with the question. How likely or unlikely is it for cingular to fold up and go out of business.(im not wishing this Im just wondering the possiblity or impossibility.)

Cingular GoPhone question!!!???

I just ordered a cheap Samsung C207 GoPhone from Cingular. I was wondering, do I get a SIM card with this phone? And if yes, then can I buy an unlocked phone that supports Cingular wireless and put that SIM card in it and use it with the prepaid service???? 🙂 Thanks in advance for your responses. Oh, I'm using the pick a plan, instead of pay as you go. I chose the $39.99/mo. plan.

ATTWS upgrade to CINGY at BEST BUY ???
Is it possible to switch from ATTWS to CINGULAR at a BEST BUY, CIRCUIT CITY or SAMS CLUB ??? Instead of going to a corporate store ???

Premier Discount
A thread here, got me to look at Cingular's site. I work for a school, and I knew Verizon offered a discount to us, but I've been a Cingular customer FOREVER. So, I checked and Cingular has a premier discount "thing". I put in my e-mail address, and it said my institution qualifies for the premier discount. Okay, so I check my email, and they give me a link to my special discounts. Only, when you click the link, it asks you to sign in with your username and password. I don't have that and it wasn't provided in the email? I tried again. I get a message that the link expired after 30 days and to put in my email address AGAIN for a new link.....so I do....I get the same email with the same "old" link, which keeps asking me to sign in, b...

I am looking for the ultra small category of phones like the panasonic g51. I want one in this category with has good reception, preferrably color and supports sms. apart from that i dont need anything else, no camera, no mp3 etc. Just the smallest cingular phone. price is a concern, but i will try to get the best deal from some online site. also since I am out of contract now, I dont want to upgrade through cingular. I have a nationwide GAIT plan and use a 6340i. I am looking at a backup phone for everyday use.

Repairing a V3
I was wondering if anyone knows of any reputable websites or stores that one can walk in and purchase parts for a Motorola V3. What I need is:
1. New LCD Mini and Interior

3. New Flex Cable under keypad

voicemail mixup...
Whenever I call my mother's number, (also Cingular customer)-I get my voicemail. I am unable to call Cingular to Cingular with her, and not one person out of 4 at customer service can find the solution. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Thinkning abput switching to CIngular Prepaid.. Please Help Me.
Hi all.. I've had Cingular, since June 24, 2004.. (got a 2 year contract agreement, so my contract will be up this June of 2006). NEVER been late on a bill.. But, I've been thinking.. Finances lately aren't that good.. And I still want to keep Cingular, and prepaid would be better off for me, too.. IS there any way to convert my number to a prepaid account? Without having to be reissued a whole new number? And is there any way to avoid the price to buy out my contract?...

Is it true that since the at&t buy out last yr cingy is going to dismantle part of there network?
I thought I heard cingy was going to get rid of parts of there 1900mhz in some cities and convert it all or most of it to the 850 mhz. Is this true or im i mistaken? Hows that network integration comming along?

Two V551 users in Dallas consistently dropping calls! What to do?
A friend and I both have V551's on Cingular and live in Dallas, TX. Both of us consistently have problems with dropped calls, regardless of who we're talking to, what time of day, day of week, or our current location in the Metroplex, and regardless of whether we're sitting still in one spot or driving around... and when we're talking to each other it's 10X worse! Between us we probably drop the call 5+ times during a 10 minute conversation, even with both of us sitting stationary in our homes with 4-5 bars signal strength!
I didn't have these excessive dropped call problems way back when with AT&T or with my old Nokia... so it's either the Motorola V551s or it's Cingular. I've read about other folks having call problems with the V551...

Central Florida Network Issues??
Has anyone heard of what the network issues are here. for the last 2 days theres been a lot of network busy and call fail errors when placing calls. also sms has been sketchy and certain numbers you dial wont go through if its another carrier's #. any updates and time of resolution would be appreciated. thanks
