Amidst the recent merger, Cingular Wireless LLC will cut about 10 per cent of its 68,000 jobs over the next 12 to 18 months as it combines operations with AT&T Wireless, the chief executive of the nation's largest cell phone company said in an interview.

In the Sacramento Call Center our Main System Telegence for adjusting charges, rate plans, features, checking balances, minutes, billing cycles, etc is DOWN!!! Is it true it's down all Cingular Call Centers across the Country? This is like working at a Cingular Store with a Cash Register, HOW CAN WE WORK LIKE THIS?!? Anyone having problems with Telegence?

I can't believe my first day working Sunday and TELEGENCE IS DOWN! This is what I get for working on the Sabbath, lol!

I was told in a local Cingular store that the Sony Ericsson s710 is compatible with the MobiTV application. Can anyone confirm if that statement true?

After checking www.mobitv.com and they do not list this phone as one supported, but their web site may not be updated either.

I was thinking of buying an unlocked Motorola a630 off ebay and using it on the Cingular network out in Boston. Currently the phone runs on the 1900 Mhz frequency and I was wondering if you guys could tell me if Cingular has good coverage with this frequency in Boston. Also, will I be able to roam onto the T-mobile 1900 network??

I had the Motorola T720 and had the problem with the phone just losing signal and the person on the other end still being able to hear me but I wouldn't be able to hear them and I would have to call them back. When I upgraded over to the V551 the problem went away but a couple of days ago it started to happen again >??? Any suggestions on what I should do ?? Also when I press the "0" key it doesn't register right away ???

ATT had terrible CS..yet I stayed with them. I was OVERJOYED at Cingualar buying them out and switched to Cingular before the merger.

You ATT CSRs represent the terrible CS ATT had with all your whinning in the name of Customer Service. YOu make me laugh with your thinly veiled customer first attitude.

You had the worst Customer Service as ATT Wireless.Why if it was a bed of roses before the merger?

The Orange side CS is MUCH better. Despite your dyer predictions Cingular is adding more customers then Verizon and will continue to do so .....I can only hope speaking as a satisfied customer and former long time ATT customer the disheveled whinners of former ATT are the ones who get layed off FIRST or quit.

Does anyone know the advantage of a car kit over a wireless blue tooth headset?

I currently work for cingular but since GSM isn't available in my area, I have to be a Verizon customer. (What an oxymoron right?) Well, this isn't the usual bashing post of either company. I think both have advantages and disadvantages. I am just sick of this who is better chat. There is no right answer!!! Everyone has different experiences with different reps and stores that shapes their cell experience. But anyways, my point is, I've posted a question about phones (I'm getting ready to renew) in the Verizon forum, and reps will answer a question about what cell company is better first rather than a question from a customer. Isn't that what these forums for?

Isn't it irritating the way the forum is set up so you sometimes have to go back and forth when people reply to the first message instead of the newest response to the first message...

Did that make any sense?

It's a slow day at work, so I downloaded a new game from Cingular.com. Daily Puzzle. $8 download, with 3 new puzzles available daily. This one game alone has killed the past 3 hours.

An outage in San Diego knocked out service for numerous Cingular Wireless customers for nearly four hours Thursday.

Cingular, which is 60% owned by SBC Communications Inc., said a problem with some gear caused intermittent outages that left an undetermined number of customers without voice or data service.

The problem was traced to gear used to transmit calls and signals for AT&T Wireless, which Cingular acquired last fall. Merging the two networks has created problems for customers, who have complained to regulators and industry consumer groups about poor service.
