Dear Customers...

I love you all and understand that without you, I wouldn't have a job. I have also been an AT&T customer for years before working here and I a) hated the reps I dealt with, b) said I would never ever ever work as one of those a$$holes and c) have a college degree that I hoped would keep me out of retail, but alas, jobs aren't so easy to find. But here's a few things I would greatly appreciate if you would understand.

1. I am a salesperson. I was hired to sell. I get paid a commission on what I sell. Me explaining how to add a contact to your phone book makes me $0. Listening to you tell me a story for 10 minutes when the point is that you have a broken car charger makes me $0. Wanting me to call in for you when you have a question...

Upcoming Phones vs. 6230

Has anyone seen or heard of the supposed lower price on the Nokia 6230? There was a rumor that the price would drop to around $80 on April 4th (today). I really need to replace and upgrade and I like the 6230, but if the price doesn't come down I can wait for something cooler / better / newer.

Thank God for Rollover minutes...

This month I had some unexpected usage of my wireless phone, thus going over my minutes. Thankfully I had over 3500 rollover minutes available to me. If it weren't for these minutes, I would be looking at some high overage charges. Thank you Cingular.

At&t/Cingular Advertising Reps

I was wondering on how ur At&t / Cingular Advertising Reps were like? Mine comes maybe if were lucky once a week is that normal our other stores say there reps come more often i wanted to know what its like in other markets thanks

April 14th - Launch date for the V635?

Can anyone either confirm or deny this? A CSR in Howardforums had mentioned this date. Once again, I realize that launch dates can change at anytime and some markets recieve the phones before others. I am currently bidding on an unlocked version, and am wondering if I should wait.

If memory serves correct, the V600 was launched at the end of April in 2004. Now I was working in the West Texas market, so it could have been launced sooner than that. Thanks for the insight.

Billing Question

So my cycle closes out on the 1st. When i was with ATTWS, it would take 7 days before i could view my bill online. How long does it take for Cingular?

Wasted GoPhone Minutes???

I'm thinking about signing up for a Cingular "GoPhone" account but, If I get the 650 minute plan and only use 400 anytime minutes, those extra 250 minutes just go away?? i asked the Rep and she didn't have the answer but called corporate and it was verified... 250 tossed away minutes... 👿 So, I thought about the lower plans but then you forfeit the mobile to mobile and unlimited nights and weekends... Anyone have any insight on this one?

So i've been told that the price of the 6230 is going to be down to $80 on a two year starting april 4...can anyone confirm/deny? I just upgraded my personal line last week and paid $130...it would be swell to get that rebate ;)

YOU ARE CHARGED TAXES ON YOUR BILL, IN ADDITION TO WIRELESS SERVICE CHARGES

Thats right folks, if you sign up for a 39.99 rate plan, you dont actually pay 39.99. Thanks to sneaky little hidden charges like "911 Service Fee" "State Municipal Telecommunications Tax" and the infamous "Federal Excise Tax" and "Federal Universal Service Charge" you may be paying up to $12.50 more a month, skyrocketing your bill to 52.49 or more a month!

why is MobiTV supported on the V180,V220,V400 and the V3 when none of these edge, and yet when the V551 does have edge MobiTV is not even supported?!? 😕 I dont get it

First Day

Finally got started today at cingular and im lovin it! I get my v551 tomorrow and im also lookin at gettin another handset to use my existing t-mobile account on. Any suggestoins because im still not 100% familiar w/ cingulars handsets!

Is it really necessary for this anymore... Honestly, the majority of us come here to help people and to chat with one another. I understand that some of us (you know who you are) just want to come on here and "give us information". Don't get us wrong at all, we appreciate the information, but you are in a CINGULAR forum, which is to inform potential customer of CINGULAR's service and products, or to assist existing customer with their CINGULAR issues. I am sure that Rich does not mind people coming in and giving information out, ie the information on Customer complaints and anything else pertaining to the company, but I am sure at this point he also does not want us continually talking about other carriers on the CINGULAR forum. Angry customer....

I had a customer upset because he wanted to start service with us and had started to set up the account but telesales transferred him to me because they couldnt order him a phone and I was supposed to do an equipment upgrade.

Of course we can't do an upgrade on a tentative ban. So I call telesales and ask them, first rep who answers the phone transfers me back into the queue. So of course im furious, my manager says call back and I do, I get a nice rep and explain the situation to him, and he says he will just cancel out the entire account and redo it. He started looking over the account and noticed a note saying the customer didn't have a credit card which is why the account wasn't finished. So I go back and advise the customer we need a...

...am I seeing more Nextel and PTT talk then Cingular talk? I mean, the little icon above "Info & Phones" does show a Cingular logo.

I think what we have here is a bad case of "I dont know how to post in the proper forum".

For all you ( or whoever ) feels that posting about Nextel is the proper thing to do, re-consider why this particular forum is called the "Cingular" forum. At the same time, re-consider why Rich created seperate forums for each individual carrier.

Now, if you want to compare Nextel and Cingular, that would belong in the "General" forum.

Perhaps, all you ( however many) Nextellers who feel inclined to post Nextel affiliated things in a Cingular forum, maybe you should kindly ask Rich to create a clash forum,...
