i have been with nextel forever and just recently found out how much i am missing out on by not being with sprint. i could get sprint tv, and music. now is the tricky part. i have no idea which phone to go with. i have looked at so many, sprint has a giant selection to choose from. i have never had a touch phone, or flip out keyboard, or any special extras for that matter. now i am so torn between the new blackberry with the touch pad scroller, and the hero, or moment. any suggestions? i like the blackberry for its non flip out keyboard. but the keys are small, so i am not sure if it will work for me. but everyone has it these days. i want to try out the new touch screen fad, but dont want to go to far as to go with all touch- lik...

I'd go with the Moment. Android has lots, and lots of cool apps & games.

i did actually. thanks for your advice though. the only thing i find wrong with this phone is the battery life. which isn't a big deal. and also , if i am in a call, or listening to a voice mail-if i bump the screen it will pause my voice mail or put my call on speaker. do u know if there is a way to bypass the speaker function, or lock the screen if i am on a call so i don't pump anything while i am on a call? and i was told to not ever use a car charger cuz its bad for your phone, is this true? i am not a wiz at all when it comes to this sort of thing. i go with advice and learn as i go.

When your on the phone the touchscree should turn off.
I don't know the answer about the car charger issue, but I don't see why it would be a problem.

Here a few Android based websites, there are forums there also.

nope, it don't. i had it go onto speaker during a call, and went into my phone (call still active) trying to turn it back off, and couldn't figure it out. oh well, i am sure once i get to the hang of things, i can find out all the secrets. And now that i am in this phone, i am so sure i would be so unsatisfied if i ever switched to a different one. I am so use to T9 texting that its taking me a bit to get use the this way, which is way easier, especially since i know my keyboard by heart. thanks for your advice

Just so you know, with the new update it fixes the issue with calls going to speaker. It has a slide option now, that way your cheek doesn't hit the speaker or mute button by mistake. Also the battery life is much improved with the update. I've never heard anything about a car charger being bad for the phone....

The reason a car charger can be bad ESPECIALLY a cheap car charger.

Lion batteries are difficult to "determine" level of charge above 90%

SO you charge in 1 of 2 ways.

#1 you charge and after a little bit you determine charge level and either continue charging or STOP charging.

#2 if charge level is over 90% you apply NO charge until it drops below 90% and then you charge to full.

Most car chargers are method #1 since #2 is far more expensive and more difficult.

SO consider what happens when you plus a 100% full battery into one of these chargers.

it begins to CHARGE an already charged battery IE your over charging.

sure after a bit it will stop BUT consider this. your car charger resets EVERY time you turn you key of...
