These people have got to be on crack? What takes them so long to release a ****ing phone? Sprint's already getting the Audiovox 9900 any day now and we dont even have the A610!!! A phone that was approved by the FCC a year ago!!!! A whole ****ing year!!!

You are bit on the crazy side. Your dropping f-bombs over a phone??!?!?!?! Thats a little nuts! Seek help soon!!
...
Crazy yes but at least I dont have my lips planted on Verizon's ass. Tell your employer they're behind the times. Sprint's PTT works better, they have better overall phones and they even have one with bluetooth now. Verizon is pathetic.

I BELIEVE YOUR VIEWS ARE A LITTLE PREJUDICE SINCE YOU WORK FOR VERIZON, (VERIZON1). IT IS VERY OBVIOUS THAT VERIZON IS SO BEHIND THE TIMES WITH THE TECHNOLOGY OF THEIR PHONES...IT GETS VERY FRUSTRATING WHEN YOU WANT TO KEEP UP TO DATE WITH TODAYS TECHNOLOGY, BUT CAN'T BECAUSE YOUR WIRELESS CARRIER WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO......VERIZON NEEDS TO GET WITH THE PROGRAM, PERIOD, THE END........
...
Actually, to have all the facts, Verizon Wireless usually waits for manufact. to come out with phones for the other carriers, first. They do this to be sure that all the bugs are worked out of the phone, so that that model is perfect when they release it. Where as the other carriersusually have kinks they need to work out within the network. And that is a fact!
...
That's not actually correct. Verizon doesn't wait for other carriers to work out bugs because their system is much different. Verizon has to make sure that the phone will work on their CDPD network and that their BREW apps work correctly (big one for VZW as it is a big revenue generator).

Is BREW going to be on this phone? This site seems to indicate not. The Sprint version seems to be able to download games using PCS Vision that I guess would use Java (J2ME), which the Verizon version doesn't seem to have. There definitely seem to be some features on the Sprint version that we will not have.
...
Yes, BREW is on this phone. Verizon call BREW "Get It Now!". In fact, all the following Samsung phones for Verizon support BREW, including A690, A650, A670 and A790.

Are you going on other information than that these upcoming phones have BREW (Get It Now)? This site seems to include in the summary whether a phone supports BREW (and doesn't seem to for this phone). The currently available Samsung SCH-A310 does not have BREW.
I guess I am still grinding over whether I should hold out for the Motorola V810 (could be months given Motorola's horrible reputation for delivering on time).

ALL OF THE CAMERA PHONES HAVE BREW/ GET IT NOW...THE A 610 IS A GOOD PHONE, THE MOTOROLA V810 PROBABLY WILL NOT COME OUT ANYTIME SOON...
...
what makes u say it wont come out any time soon have u heard any more on the v880?
...
Do any of you people know when LG 4600 will be out, and Also Are the phones from Tellus(canada) work on Verizon network, bacuse even they have better phones then Verizon
...
A310 doesn't support BREW (my guess is it was developed before Verizon decided to use BREW.) A530, A610, and A690 are BREW 1.1; while A650, A670, and A790 are BREW 2.0. And MITS phones, like I600 and I700, don't have BREW.
...
GET IT NOW is what Verizon has branded the BREW service and this phone is surely capable as well as any other newly released Verizon Mobile phone
...
In fact, tech speaking, A610's BREW (aka, Get It Now) is older version comparing to the some other Verizon phones, like LG Vx6000 and other Samsung's future phones (A650, A670, even A790). So some applications you see on those phones, may not be seen on A610..
...
Verizon actually does not wait to make sure that the phone works with CDPD...that's a totally different technology outside of making your average in/out voice calls. Just in case you didn't know, there are cdpd modems that don't use voice line, they work over the cdpd network..Now maybe you meant CDMA but next time before you post, get your **** together, because there's always someone out there who know's that much more than you...
