what format do I to transfer mp3 to mid ringtones
what type of format do i need to play ring tones on my phone. I send mid files, but when they come to the phone, the phone says it's a unsuported format.
I'm sending 20 sec midi files in 65kb format.

Midi files for Phones need to be in MIDI 0 format. (MIDI Zero)
You can get converters all over online. GNMIDFMT is a popular one. (http://www.gnmidi.com/)
There are a ton out there that will do wav/mp3 to midi, as well just do a google search for midi converter.
Just remember they have to be in midi 0

a free midi editor called Anvil Midi Studio will truncate the midi file and export it as a type-0 file. While Anvil won't blow your mind as a midi editor, it works pretty well, especially considering it is totally free of cost.

I got this from another forum. Hope it helps. I am sure there are other programs out there besides Winamp you can substitute. (I hate winamp), but like I said, this is a cut and paste.
