Samsung SCH-A610

I am a Verizon Authorized Dealer rep and we have the spec sheets and recieve phones faster than any of the direct stores in my area/ Baltimore. Today we got the new smartphone by Samsung before anybody else in the area including the highest volume direct location on the east coast. I will try and contact some people up the chain tonight to get an inside look and possibly a date.

I was just in the Verizon store near the suburbs of Phila, PA and just about to switch from AT&T to Verizon and go with the LG VX6000 and the Verizon Sales Rep 'slipped' and said the new Samsung should be out within the next month - they had them in stock in the backroom, but I think only the Techs had access to them and learning how to use them etc. So, hopefully by xmas or nye we should start seeing this phone available. It looks like a much better phone compared to the LG VX6000, but still would need to see it in-person to make my final decison. I've been hauling around an old Panasonic phone for the last two years and wanted the most updated new phone Verizon has to offer... I know that once I buy the VX 6000 that the new Samsung would b...

Exton, PA 19341 (but I think the Verizon store is located in Downingtown). She said the techs had them in the (physically) back and she said that it would be sometime later this month (December) - the tech then came out and said the same thing. Then, they tried to talk me into the LG-VX6000 b/c they knew I was interested in the Samsung. But they seemed confident that they were in-stock just not ready to sell yet, so I believe them.

i was just in verizon today and they have the $50 mail in rebates in the store and the rebate lasts until 12/31 so i asked the salesrep about it and they said that they heard the release date was 12/15 for $199 with the $50 rebate for a total of $149!!

UNFORTUNATELY, IT DOESNT LOOK LIKE WE ALL ARE GOING TO GET THIS PHONE UNTIL AFTER THE NEW YEAR. I SPOKE TO SOMEONE WHO WORKS AT VZW TODAY VIA EMAIL AND SHE ASKED ONE OF THEIR GURU'S ABOUT A POSSIBLE RELEASE DATE ON THIS PHONE AND HE TOLD HER THAT IT WONT BE AVAIL TILL AFTER CHRISTMAS, AND THAT IT WAS STILL IN THE TESTING PHASE....I AM EXTREMELY ANNOYED WITH VERIZON WIRELESS, IT TAKES THEM SOOOO LONG TO PUT OUT A PHONE, THIS PHONE WAS APPROVED BY THE FCC 1 YR AGO......HOWEVER, IT DOES LOOK LIKE THE AUDIOVOX 8900 IS GOING TO RELEASE IN DECEMBER..BUT FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO WANT THE A610, THE 8900 SUCKS....IT DOES NOT HAVE A FLASH FOR THE CAMERA AND DOES NOT HAVE A COLOR EXTERNAL DISPLAY FROM WHAT I CAN SEE IN THE PICS....ITS MERELY A GLORIFIED V...

I CALLED THE STORE IN DOWNINGTOWN AND THE SALES REP SAID THAT HE HAS THE AUDIOVOX 8900 IN STOCK IN THE BACK, BUT NOT THE SAMSUNG A610...HE SAID HE WAS UNAWARE OF WHEN THE A610 WOULD BE COMING OUT.....ALSO, READ MY MESSAGE THAT I POSTED ABOUT BAD NEWS ON THE A610 RELEASE DATE.....THX TAKE CARE....

I've been a verizon customer for a long time, but I'm a tech head and really can't stick with a service that continually has the worst selection of phones. The 7135 was finally releaded by them a year after the phone came out. This phone should have been out in February. It may be a really good phone, but just as Verizon is coming out with this picture phone that is finally decent for a verizon picture phone, sprint is coming out with their video clip phones now.

So I'm exercising LNP for both my numbers and switching over to sprint tomorrow.

I KNOW, ITS UNBELIEVABLE HOW LONG IT TAKES VERIZON TO COME OUT WITH A NEW PHONE...THEY KNOW THEY HAVE A GOOD NETWORK AND THEY ARE ****EY ABOUT IT...LOOK, EVERY OTHER COMPANY OFFER AT LEAST 600 ANYTIME MINUTES WITH THEIR 39.99 PLANS, SPRINT EVEN OFFERS 1000 MINUTES FOR 45.00. I THINK THE VIDEO CAMERA PHONES ARE AWESOME BUT I GUARANTEE THAT VERIZON WONT EVEN COME OUT WITH ONE OF THEM BY THIS TIME NEXT YEAR....I AM STRONGLY CONSIDERING SWITCHING COMPANIES AS WELL, BUT ARE PROBABLY GOING TO HOLD ON.....

Hi!! I wanted to say that VW might be a little slower in coming out with new equipment, but while other carriers are working out the many kinks they have with all the new phones they rush to get, VW is sailing smooth with the products that they can rely on! Stick it out with them! You will be happier in the long run! =)
