I don't believe the phone is still being tested. I think it will be out in two weeks. Verizon is not stupid. I think the vx6000 is a piece of crap. Its outdated and has no features. Not to mention it looks retarded. I am going to flip out if I have to wait till after christmas for the phone. No doubt it will be worth the wait. I work for Verizon but would choose AT&T over them in a heartbeat. MMODe seems like its gonna take off. They dont make rebates to just throw them away. I wouldn't be surprised if it came out tomorrow.

Do you know about a release date for the Audiovox 8900 camera phone? I've heard December 12th or 18th, but I can't be sure. i've been waiting a while, and really don't want to get the VX6000.

I just called Verizon and they said that since they havent heard anything about the a610 yet- it will probably come out sometime next year!!! Someone give me better news please âšī¸

MD....I am a Verizon rep in a direct store and I guess all I can say is that we aren't being told when the release of the phone is. We HAD mail in rebates for them which got tossed so it's not coming out anytime soon. We don't even have the dummy model yet so I'm guessing that it won't come out until sometime early in 2004 unfortunately, and I'm not sure on the month as well. Those of you who have a 6000, there are software updates for it which you need to go to the store to get it "flash" updated. It actually makes the phone a lot better with the ability to do group distribution in terms of text messages and picture messages... plus a few small other details

This phone is already in Verizon's final testing, as I know it's scheduled to be finished late this week. Its best luck is released before Christmas... well, maybe new year...

The phone has a flash on the outside instead of a dual LCD. The screen rotates around and can be kept flipped so you can see it like an external LCD. The problem is it is prone to damage flipped around like that so insurance is a must with this phone!!!It won't be that ugly feminine blue either it will match the rest in a silver color.

I work for a 71 location authorized dealer. I talked to some direct Verizon reps and no one has a clue to when this will come out. I have the rebates and spec sheets. My assumption is they are going to release it after they get rid of all the VX6000's. They didn't have to drop the price like so. I think they are trying to discontinue this model and fall back on the Samsung and Audiovox. They figure they can cut the decision making by limiting the choices to 2 phones through the holidays. Not many Verizon customers are going to pay top dollar for a upscale camera phone. This is my opinion, but I have a good grasp on cellular. 4 years experience. I will keep you all updated, I have some good sources keeping tabs on things.

I'm not with Verizon, so I don't know exactly when they want to put this phone in the market. But I do know this phone is almost done; it's the in the final final final stage. Samsung is trying to fix the last couple bugs. Hopefully, all of them will be fixed by the end of this week. If not, we should see it next year... Though I really hope to see this phone coming into the market before Christmas.

I called Verizon Corporate HQ and they said that the phone will be out the first week of january, but they do not know the price yet. No other phones are scheduled to come out untill late march/april
