Broke several of my location-aware applications

Is anybody else seeing this after the update? At least four of my applications that depend on using GPS to pinpoint my location can no longer get one; the hunt for my location either goes on forever or the application instantly crashes upon querying. ☚ī¸ Only one of my applications, OneBusAway, continues to be location-aware.

1 year later...

...look in the list of bankrupt companies for Bluegrass Mobile.

How can they afford this deal? Signing a deal with Apple is like signing a deal with the devil for small rural carriers like this!

I can see Russia from my iPhone.

I can see Russia and its evil empire from my iPhone. I sure hope the Republicans wipe their data off of this phone before they resell them.

Wow!!!!!!

This is shocking!!!! And something that should have happened a long time ago, duh, if a customer is no longer on contract, and is month-to-month, and want their phone unlocked, so be it, ANY phone!!!

Mislead Customers...

This act will mislead customers into believing that their ATT iPhones will work on Verizon and Sprint which, to my knowledge, is false.

Am I wrong?

Where are you at...

US Cellular?

It surprises me that US Cellular has said no when these other, smaller regional carriers are deciding to sell the Iphone (w/ a discount too)

Price

I wonder how they were able to get a better subsidy price than other carriers? On average, it costs a cell phone company about $400 to find a new customer...the subsidy on the iPhone is $450, making it cheaper to find a new customer than pay the subsidy. I wonder if they are taking the extra $50 hit, and if Apple allowed them to do this? They are usually pretty strict about making sure their product is the same price everywhere...

I used to be AT&T

I ended my contract in good standing, I have an iphone 4, locked to AT&T gathering dust. I call customer service they tell me I have to have an existing AT&T number to get the unlock code...
explanation on their policy blah blah my trying to explain what I read in this article gets met with met with a mixture of ignorance and attitude. I don't want to fight with At&T CS anymore.

There is a problem from what I am understanding about this article and what AT&T customer service reps are being told.

Kinda knew it was too good to be true. Any AT&T reps out there that know what they are doing, could you please email me? I need to speak to someone with intelligence, I know there are one or two of you out there. gusbaby@hotmail.com

Sprint again?

I swear Sprint sells their network to anybody that's willing to use it. It's the same plan essentially $80 for unlimited text and data and 600 minutes but the phone is $50 cheaper and uses the same network as Sprint? what is wrong with this picture? I wonder if this counts as part of the committment that Sprint would sell X amount of iphones in 5 years?

I Don't Get It!

Most Tablets and Slab Style PDA's CLONES of each other. The all work nearly identicle to one another.

The only legitimate suit that one manufacturer could bring against each other would be logo copyright infringement.

People are only loyal to Price, Brand and Carrier....

I wouldn't care other than our judicial resources fueled by our tax dollars are being missappropiated for this corporate school yard squabble!

what goes around comes around

Simply put if apple had ask companies to license their patents Motorola wouldn't have step on their toes so hard. Apple deserves a little bit of their own medicine.

Good idea

Let's hope they don't patent it because I'd like to be able to do this at other stores too.

Hmmm

With these kind of decisions it amazes me how this company is still in business. You don't pass up the iPhone. You don't. Love it or hate it, it sells.

This company will be Big Red's in a few years anyway so who cares. Moving on....
