DEFY Virtual Keyboards... no "Number/12-key" Version!??!
I was playing with one of these in the store as I'm trying to finally move to the current times and give up my flip phone... the only reason is I can't find a phone with a bigger screen/android/symbian OS that has the standard "12-Key" configuration.
Many touch phones you can change the standard QWERTY keyboard to the 0-9 number pad to type with (3 letters on each key and using T-9)
This one doesn't have it --- does anyone know of an app that can add one??? It's the only thing stopping me from getting the phone...
Thanks!
Wi-Fi is horrible.
seriously, I cannot get thing to connect to anything!!!!
WCDMA 850 & 1700
Does that mean it COULD work on AT&T's 3G network? (Atleast in places that use 850MHz).
I know in my city they use it.

Unlocking
Thinking about getting this for AT&T, does anybody have any experience of unlocking android phones? Will T-mobile give me an unlock code?

Question to the author, Phillip Berne
Hi Phillip,
Thank you for your review of the product. Having worked on this product myself, I find it surprising and troubling to note that you had issues staying up on WiFi and using the WiFi calling feature.
Do you mind sharing with me the model and specs of your router along with the firmware version running on it so that we can conduct further tests and make the product better than it already is? Thank you.
Regards,
-GC

is it just me....
Anyone else sort of confused on why AT&T doesn't pick up or reguest Motorola to develop higher end Droid handsets?
Is it to not steal the thunder from the iphone or is there a deal with Verizon to keep the uber nice Driods away?
Will

Two Strikes against it out of the gate.
Ugh its Motorola with the MotoBlur Bloatware and its T-Mobile just to ahead and run over it with a truck and put this miserable future hunk of crap out of its misery before they even release it.

Not bad...
It does not look like a bad looking phone at all, I am willing to bet that it will be better then all the negative people say it will be. A good example is the MY TOUCH 3g Slide, I never heard one good thing about it and it turned out to be better then the original Droid just with a lower quality screen. Give the phone a change I am sure it will be a good piece of Android.

I'm just wondering...
How well the screen will hold up? It might be scratch resistant but I've seen construction workers run over other clamshell rugged phones and they come out fine, but this has a lot weaker physique.
