LG Nexus 4

Get the nexus 4 from Google Play and put it on a promotional credit card that will let you pay it off over 12 months with no interest. Why in the hell would you pay 417 bucks for a 299 dollar phone?

I was not thrilled when I first heard that Google picked LG. Maybe they will go back to Samsung next year.

I'm shocked battery life is that bad considering this thing lacks LTE.

LG has been an imitator more than an innovator. They are so sad that they are rarely ever named in Apple's notorious lawsuits (and we KNOW just how SHY Apple is when it comes to naming defendants, don't we).

Not to mention, LG's Corporate culture is kind of jerky and arrogant without any real reason to support it. If I was a public corporate figure for LG, I would be humble and listen to my customers (like Apple in their early years).

The N4 supports LTE on AWS, regardless of what LG says. Of course, the only carrier that has both a GSM/HSPA network and (future) LTE in AWS in the US is T-Mobile. But the phone will connect at LTE speeds in that band.

I guess the big question is whether the phone can receive dual spatial streams (2 receive antennas on at once), since technically you need that to be up to spec on LTE. So far, results are inconclusive as to whether this is the case. If not, LG is selling a phone that isn't compliant with the LTE standard, even though it will connect to towers just fine (albeit at half the download speed of a normal LTE device). However my bet is that the DC-HSPA+ capabilities built into the N4 are enough to allow diverse receive on LTE, so...

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the difference between 4.1 and 4.2, and why are they called the same thing? Before I read this article, I didn't even know of 4.2, and I thought that it would be called Key Lime Pie (or something beginning with 'k'). When did this all play out?

I remember watching T-mobile buy up UMA technology for years. And then when T-mobile introduced this feature nearly a decade ago, I thought it would revolutionize the entire cellphone industry and finally give T-mobile a competitive advantage. But T-mobile did very little with the technology and failed to market it very well. And today most people still don't know what it is.

Either you get bloated with a bunch of BS T-Mobile apps nobody wants, or you get nothing.

Ive been reading around mostly googles site so pardon me is this isn't in the story but its 300 bucks for an unlocked, no contract 8gb of memory, 2gb of ram and a quad core s4 processor. when the first razr droid came out on Verizon it was 300 WITH 2 yr contract still in tow. i think that is an incredible deal seeing most any unactivated android on any carrier is 350. and they also didn't include a micro sd card slot because of a $15 licensing fee per a phone from Microsoft for the exFAT licensing.

I am surprised Motorola has not made a Nexus device since Google officially acquired it. It seems to me like Motorola has been pushed to the back burner when it comes to the Nexus line.
