I believe they use a nano-coating that helps the circuit board survive a dunk. But it doesn't keep water out of the inside, and I don't think they market it as waterproof. That means they don't guarantee it.
So it may be more likely to survive an accidental spill, but you definitely shouldn't take it in the pool.
