Still 1080p and 401ppi in 2018?
Seriously? I know it's sort of a budget high end device per say but damn after 6 iterations you cant up the ante a bit and slap a 2k screen on it? Especially since it's a big ass 6.2" incher? Come on smh

You might have better eyes than I do. I have a difficult time appreciating any benefit (at all) of a 2K display unless I'm using it for VR. 401ppi is pretty good. The human eye maxes out around 300ppi at standard reading distance.
Also, keep in mind that 2:1 displays change the equation. If this were a 6.2" display at 16:9, then yes, it would be not-great. But 2:1 displays are narrower, so those 1080 pixels across the width are packed into less space, providing better ppi. In the typical move to add a notch, the extra pixels are added only to the top, so these days when they stretch it out from, say, 5.8" to 6.2", adding a notch, that's not reducing the ppi at all.
